Toyota runs manufacturing plants all over the United States, producing trucks, SUVs, cars, and hybrids. The Toyota factory in Indiana, for example, just celebrated its one-millionth hybrid. But it’s not the now-25-year-old Prius or wildly popular RAV4 Hybrid. It’s a Toyota Sienna.

The Toyota factory in Princeton, Indiana, just celebrated its millionth hybrid: a minivan

The Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana (TMMI) factory has rolled out over six million vehicles during its 27-year tenure. Today, TMMI is responsible for popular North American-market models like the Highlander. But the factory also cooks up a couple of the brand’s hybrids. And now the Toyota factory is celebrating the one-millionth hybrid to leave the four-and-a-half million square-foot plant.

The model to add a seventh figure to the hybrid counter was a 2025 Toyota Sienna Platinum in Wind Chill Pearl. Not exactly a hybrid hypercar, but certainly a popular addition to the Japanese brand’s lineup. While the plant produces both the Highlander and Highlander Hybrid, the Sienna has been a hybrid-only affair since the minivan’s 2021 redesign.

“It’s a significant achievement to reach this milestone and something our team members should be proud of,” said the president of Toyota Indiana, Jason Puckett. “The all-hybrid Sienna demonstrates our commitment to electrification and remains a top-selling vehicle in Toyota’s lineup.”

According to Toyota, the Sienna has called the Toyota factory in Indiana home since 2003. But only in the last five years did the popular family hauler become a hybrid-only model. It’s probably for the best, though.

With the 245-horsepower, hybrid 2.5L inline-four-cylinder mill driving the front wheels, the Sienna will manage up to 36 mpg combined. Fuel economy figures like those establish the Sienna as a sipper compared to options like the Chrysler Pacifica and Honda Odyssey.
