Alec Baldwin, a television and Oscar-nominated movie celebrity, was behind the wheel in an East Hampton, New York, crash. Photos of the crash show a late-model, fifth-generation Range Rover in contact with a tree, its front end in a poor state.
According to TMZ, the Range Rover belongs to Hilaria Baldwin, Alec’s wife. However, Alec Baldwin confirmed in a social media post that he was driving at the time of the crash. He wasn’t alone, either. Alec’s brother and fellow actor, Stephen Baldwin, was in the Range Rover at the time of the crash.
“I crushed my wife’s car and I feel bad about that,” Baldwin said in an Instagram post.” The “30 Rock” and “Rust” actor also confirmed that neither he nor his brother sustained injury in the wild crash. “But it’s all fine. I’m fine, my brother’s fine.”
Baldwin says he swerved to avoid a garbage truck that “cut him off,” which put him on a collision course with the large tree. However, the sanitation company responsible for the truck says the driver wasn’t responsible for Baldwin’s wreck.
While both Baldwins are fortunate to be uninjured, the repair bill is sure to be steep. A 2025 Range Rover starts at $112,250 for the base P400 SE trim. However, upper trim levels, like the swivel-eyed 606-horsepower P615 SV, can push the SUV’s starting price tag to over $215,000.
