Employees at a Huntsville car dealership arrived to work on Saturday, June 28, to a shocking scene. Multiple vehicles on their lot had been trashed overnight: windows busted, mirrors ripped off, tires slashed, and deep gouges carved into the paint.

The business has used Infiniti, Kia, Lexus, Subaru, and even Dodge models for sale, too. Strangely, though, only the Nissan cars were targeted.

The vandalism happened at Landers McClarty Nissan on University Drive. Managers estimate the damage could easily top half a million dollars. Not a single car from other brands on the lot was touched, which has staff convinced this wasn’t random mischief but something personal.

Bruce Bennett, a manager at the dealership, guided a walkthrough of the wreckage

He told local WAFF he was stunned by the sheer scope of the destruction. He couldn’t fathom why someone would go to such lengths with what seems like a grudge aimed solely at Nissan.

Huntsville police are reviewing surveillance footage and pursuing any possible leads. In the meantime, the dealership is working with its insurance provider to cover repair costs. Unless someone is arrested, the financial burden will fall on the insurer and, indirectly, the business.

Several vehicles will need full bodywork, new glass, and complete tire replacements. The cleanup won’t just be expensive. It will also delay putting many cars back on the lot during peak summer sales season.

The dealership is urging anyone with information to come forward. If anyone knows who might have done this, they’re asked to contact Huntsville Police at (256) 722-7100.

For now, dealership staff at Landers McClarty are left bewildered. They’re not only shocked by the damage but puzzled by the mystery of why someone would single out one brand with such aggression.
