An Oklahoma man found out the hard way that trucks can’t fly. He ran off the road, hit a guard rail, and fell off a bridge. The man dropped 30 feet into a creek below and didn’t stay quiet. The driver admitted to being on drugs and using his phone before crashing his truck. 

Oklahoma man on drugs crashes truck into creek 30 feet below 

Police officers in Okmulgee County, Oklahoma immediately responded to the scene of an injury collision. The driver of a truck got distracted, ran off the road, plowed through a guard rail, and fell 30 feet into a creek below. 

The Okmulgee Fire Department was able to extract the driver from his truck, which landed on its side. Firefighters pulled him out before he drowned as the cabin filled with water. Bystanders and witnesses also entered the deep water to provide aid before emergency personnel arrived. 

During questioning, the driver admitted to police officers that he was on methamphetamine. Also, he was looking at his phone right before losing control of his vehicle. According to KTUL, the man was transported to a local hospital. He sustained serious injuries during the incident. 

The name of the truck driver hasn’t been released as there is an ongoing investigation into the incident. When the investigation is complete, the case will be forwarded to the Okmulgee County District’s Office for review and potential charges. 

After the man was taken to the hospital, a remediation service arrived at the scene to assist with the cleanup process. Debris, gas, and other fluids contaminated the water.
