What started as a text invitation to a brawl quickly escalated into a high-speed, three-vehicle police pursuit through the streets of North Charleston. By the time the dust settled on Monday evening, four women were sitting in handcuffs following a wild sequence of events that involved a knife, alleged gunfire, and a massive disregard for traffic laws.
The chaos officially caught the attention of the North Charleston Police Department shortly before 7:00 p.m. According to ABC4 News, an officer stationed near the intersection of Aragon and Spruill Avenues spotted a car recklessly blasting through the road’s median. If that wasn’t suspicious enough, two other vehicles were hot on its bumper, aggressively weaving through the median to get around normal traffic.
Naturally, the officer flipped on the blue lights and sirens to pull the convoy over. Instead of doing that, all three drivers hit the gas.
The pursuit tore down Buist Avenue and onto North Rhett Avenue. The fleeing drivers completely ignored police commands, performing dangerous evasive maneuvers, blowing through a red light, and weaving wildly around innocent commuters to avoid being boxed in.
Eventually, the pack splintered. One of the cars finally gave up and pulled over on Sumner Avenue, where police quickly detained its two passengers. The remaining two vehicles continued their chase before officers finally managed to intercept and forcefully stop them on Marie Street.

Knives, Gunshots, and a Group Text
When police finally got everyone in custody, the bizarre backstory came to light. The occupants of one car claimed they were fleeing because someone in a trailing vehicle was actively shooting at them.
According to investigators, the multi-car madness was actually the boiling point of an ongoing feud that started the previous night in nearby Summerville. The situation escalated when one of the suspects allegedly received a text message challenging her and her crew to a physical fight on Virginia Avenue.
The groups met up as planned, and a confrontation immediately broke out. As the crowds began to scatter, one individual reportedly whipped out a knife and attacked one of the cars, which triggered the reckless three-vehicle scramble.
The Charges
Following the coordinated takedown, local authorities handed out several serious charges.
- Failure to Stop for Blue Lights: Issued to the three drivers leading the pursuit: 20-year-old J’Lynn Morgan Brown (Charleston), 20-year-old Niara Chevela Bryan (North Charleston), and Danielle Graham Jenkins (North Charleston).
- Public Disorderly Conduct: Issued to a fourth woman involved in the incident, 28-year-old Deja’Marie Yvette Graham-Haynes of Charleston.
