Fiat Chrysler must get a lot of mileage with its special editions. They crank them out so much it is hard to keep track. The latest is this 75th-anniversary edition of the legendary Dodge Ram 4×4 Power Wagon. Released just after WWII to adopt the WC series Dodge military trucks for civilian use, it was the first 4×4 available to the public.

That first Dodge Power Wagon lasted basically unchanged until 1957. By then it picked up the newer Dodge half-ton pickup styling and interior. Many of these early generations of the Power Wagon are some of the most collectible off-road trucks ever made. The Power Wagon was continued to be offered until 1980. It was revived under the Dodge/Ram banner starting in 2005.

The 2021 Anniversary model starts out as a Ram 2500 model. What first catches your eye is the new “jail bar” grille and 17-inch bead-lock wheels. You can also see Mopar rock rails with steps and an electronic transfer case that you can’t.

75th Anniversary badges are placed on the C-pillar, with Power Wagon decals on the doors and tailgate. Blacked out LED headlights are also part of the package. Exclusive Power Wagon colors are Anvil and Go Mango Orange. All of the standard Ram 2500 colors can also be ordered.

Inside, Longhorn Diamond Black premium leather is a far cry from what the original Power Wagons came with. Used throughout the interior 75th Anniversary badges get embossed on the front seats. Gloss black instrument panel inserts and a dark brushed aluminum radio surround distinguish the Power Wagon interior.

A 12-inch Uconnect infotainment screen is also standard with the Power Wagon package. Off-Road Pages are featured in the app cluster. A Harmon-Kardon 17-speaker sound system rounds out the Power Wagon upgrades.

All Power Wagons come with the 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine

All Power Wagons come with the 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine with 410 hp and 429 lb-ft of torque. Also, Power Wagons feature a unique 4×4 suspension system. The factory front winch is rated at 12,000 lbs.

And the bottom line? Ram has not sent out prices but it is expected to add almost $6,000. With the base price of a 2021 Ram 2500 Power Wagon listed at $53,535, you’re looking at a minimum of $60,000. We expect that most Power Wagons will have other option packages to take them north of $70,000. Still, it is a lot of truck and limited edition, too.
