I’m having trouble naming the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer that I’m reviewing this week. But the song that says, “Getting to know you, getting to know all about you seems to work. I am getting bright and breezy because of the beautiful things I’m learning about the Jeep Grand Wagoneer day by day”. There are a few facts that you really need to know.

7 of things you need to know about the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

This week is for the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer and me. It’s the biggest Jeep available, so it was challenging to figure out where to start. As I’ve been pressing new buttons, checking out all three rows, and driving through the mountains, I’ve been gathering a few essential takeaways.

I have the Grand Wagoneer Series II with the Customer Preferred Package and the Premium Group. These optional packages include heavy-duty engine cooling, ventilated seats in the second row, chrome took hooks, tinted glass, and more.

Important Grand Wagoneer facts

1. The Grand Wagoneer has advanced tech

The 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is loaded with neat features that other rivals don’t provide. For example, there is a nighttime infrared camera that illuminates in the digital gauge cluster if an animal or a person is detected near the road.

Plus, below the center console, there is an optional cooler bin. It’s massive, and you can turn it on at any time to get your drinks and snacks cold.

This is the first vehicle I’ve used that has a power-folding third row and a power-folding second row. You can fold the seats completely flat from the tailgate.

An adjustable air suspension is standard with each model. The Quadra-Lift air suspension adds two inches of ground clearance as needed. It lifts the Wagoneer from eight to 10 inches. It can also be lowered to help loading heavy items become easier.

2. The Grand Wagoneer is agile

I’m incredibly impressed by how nimble the Jeep Grand Wagoneer is. It doesn’t feel as big as it is. You can make tight turns with ease. It’s one of the most convenient three-row SUVs that I’ve ever parked.

You can make U-turns, back up in tight city spaces, turn on narrow trails, and more with confidence. Also, there isn’t noticeable body roll around curves at all. For being the most giant Jeep, it’s not lumbering at all.

3. The Grand Wagoneer is great at night

The 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer has very bright LED headlights. They provide a crisp and clear view of your surroundings. It’s very comfortable to drive at night thanks to the outstanding visibility the headlights deliver.

You can adjust the ambient colors in the interior to light up the dashboard. I picked teal lighting for the top and dark blue for the bottom. Also, the door handles illuminate in the dark, and the front doors emit a light that spells ‘WAGONEER”.

4. The tech could be more intuitive

Perhaps this is a user error, but the tech in the Jeep Grand Wagoneer doesn’t seem to be very intuitive. I needed to watch a few user videos to make sure I’m using the touchscreen correctly. I’m not saying it’s bad, just different.

The system is primarily controlled by a touch screen, and it’s easy to hit the wrong button and change menus by accident. You have to hold down the buttons to adjust your seat settings instead of tapping them.

Also, the controls to adjust the seating position are on the side of the door panels instead of on the seat. There are little things that I haven’t mastered yet.

5. The visibility is great

The Grand Wagoneer has excellent visibility. The large windshield gives you a full view of the road, and the backup camera clearly displays your surroundings. I’ve already parallel parked this beast with confidence thanks to the excellent views and rear parking sensors.

Also, the side mirrors display clear views of the traffic behind you, and the tri-pane panoramic sunroof allows a good amount of natural light to filter in. The pane above the third row is such a nice touch.

6. It gets a wide range of emotions

So far, people have asked me tons of questions about the 2022 jeep Grand Wagoneer because they are in the market. Some people say that it looks great and can’t wait to see how it drives.

But others have reacted with a little frustration upon saying things like it only gets an EPA-estimated 13 mpg or the price. The base model starts at $87,845, by the way, but it includes so many standard features!

I keep getting asked where the classic wood paneling is too. I get it. Wood paneling used to be all the rage for wagons. But now, instead of having it on the sides, you can find nice pops of dark walnut wood in the interior.

7. The Jeep Grand Wagoneer is customizable

There are so many things you can do to personalize the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer to your personal preferences. There are two driver seat memory settings and driver profiles, so you can save your favorite settings.

The digital cluster display is quite easy to configure with the information that you want to see. There is four-zone automatic climate control so that you can set the perfect temperature for yourself as a driver or passenger. You can also adjust the colors of the ambient lighting.

When will we share more about the Grand Wagoneer?

My week with the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is just beginning. I’ve driven it on paved roads in the countryside and in tight city areas so far. I will be seeing how it does in the snow and off the pavement soon.

A complete Grand Wagoneer review is on the way. These are just my first impressions. As I discover more unique features, I’ll keep you updated. For example, I’ve only found one easter egg so far, so it’s time I get away from this desk and back in the Grand Wagoneer.
