According to U.S. News, the 2021 Honda Passport earned its best 2-row SUV for the money and best 2-row SUV for Families awards. Additionally, it’s close to the top of its list of best midsize SUVs overall. With a score of 8.3/10, the Passport is an excellent midsize SUV option that most consumers seem to forget about.

Astonishingly despite its excellent reviews, the Passport sold 48% below the class average. The $32,790 SUV comes well-equipped with a V6 engine standard and tons of safety equipment.

Another underappreciated midsize SUV is the 2021 Buick Enclave. We can pretty much guarantee that this one wasn’t on your radar. However, it definitely should be if you need an SUV around this size. The Buick Enclave scored a fantastic 8/10 from U.S. News and sat right in the middle of the midsize SUV rankings. Although it is a little more expensive due to its luxury nature, it doesn’t deserve to sell 58% below the class average.

U.S. News points out that the Enclave offers exception interior and cargo space compared to competitors. If the $40,300 SUV is in your budget, it’s a great option that’s likely to be in stock and available.

2021 Mazda CX-9 is the third best overall midsize SUV

Earning a score of 8.5/10 from U.S. News got the Mazda CX-9 nearly to the top of the list. Standout features include excellent handling, three-row seating, a four-cylinder turbo engine, and a tech-filled 10.3-inch infotainment system. Additionally, this midsize SUV is an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award winner, meaning it’s safer than most other options.

For such a well-rounded vehicle, it sold very little. The 2021 Mazda CX-9’s year-to-date sales are a whopping 64% below the class average. That means if one of the best midsize SUVs is of interest to you, you shouldn’t have an issue finding one. Best of all it’s affordable and starts at $34,160.
