1. 2022 BMW X5

Consumer Reports considers the 2022 BMW X5 among the best SUVs. The handling is comfortable, and this midsize luxury SUV takes sharp turns well. In addition, its suspension can easily handle bumps in the road without making riders feel uncomfortable. As for acceleration, the BMW X5 can go from 0 to 60 mph in a decent 6.0 seconds.

Stepping inside, riders will enjoy the BMW X5’s luxuriousness. It makes use of wood, leather, chrome, and other materials to give the X5 a classy look and feel. The seats are comfortable and easy to access, and the vehicle’s design provides plenty of visibility. If there’s a downside to the 2022 BMW X5, it’s the $60,600 starting price, one of the highest on this list of midsize luxury SUVs.

2. 2022 Lexus RX

According to Consumer Reports, the 2022 Lexus RX stands out for its comfortable seating. This could make the Lexus RX an ideal luxury SUV for those interested in taking longer road trips. The comfort in the Lexus RX is a big reason it earned a high owner satisfaction score from Consumer Reports. 

However, although CR’s review is overwhelmingly positive, it notes a few downsides. The handling is nothing special, but it also isn’t trying to be a sporty SUV. 

3. 2022 Lexus RX L

The 2022 Lexus RX L is similar to the RX but with three rows of seats instead of two. More seating is essential for larger families, but according to Consumer Reports, size is an issue for the RX L’s third row: Only smaller passengers will be comfortable back there. However, even if the seating is somewhat disappointing, the extra space is still valuable. With the third-row seats folded down, the Lexus RX L provides plenty of cargo capacity.

Other than the additional space, one can expect all the perks that come with the RX. The interior of the Lexus RX L is equally comfortable, and the quiet ride makes trips even more pleasant.

4. 2022 Porsche Cayenne 

The 2022 Cayenne delivers the experience one would expect from a Porsche sports car but in SUV form. Its 3.0-liter turbo V6 engine delivers impressive power — Consumer Reports compares its performance on a test course to a sports sedan. Despite being a sportier luxury SUV, the Cayenne is still quiet, another perk.

But as great as the 2022 Porsche Cayenne is, it might not be for everyone. Its ride isn’t as comfortable as some other luxury SUVs, which is the tradeoff for its emphasis on performance. Additionally, it’s the most expensive model on this list, with a starting MSRP of $69,000.

5. 2022 Infiniti QX60

The 2022 Infiniti QX60 is a three-row midsize luxury SUV that comes standard with an impressive selection of advanced safety features. According to Consumer Reports, the QX60 includes blind spot warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, and more. 

On the road, the Infiniti QX60 exhibits a comfortable and quiet ride, but CR mentions one complaint. When braking in wet conditions, the QX60 took a considerable distance to stop completely.
