If you don’t want to get a full-size RV or even haul around a camper, then getting a truck camper may be the solution for you. Sure, it’s a smaller option than an RV, but the best truck campers will provide a similar experience at a much cheaper price. Here are the five best truck campers of 2019.

Arctic Fox 865: a quality truck camper

The Arctic Fox 865 has an overall solid design that Crow Survival mentioned had a high quality feel to it. One unique feature that the Arctic Fox 865 has is that it has a hallway in it. This hallway ends up creating three different rooms, a bathroom, a bedroom, and a kitchen.

On top of that, according to Crow Survival, the interior design is very elegant and it’s clear that Arctic Fox took time to make it look good. That said, the design may not be what some people are looking for. On top of that, Crow Survival says that the sink takes up a lot of space and it’s difficult to get on the roof.

Northern Lite 8-11 EX: great value in a small package

Rainy Adventures says that the Northern Lite 8-11 EX is a short but great truck camper, especially if you want to live in it. It’s rated as a four season camper, which means that it can handle all four seasons.

It also has plenty of storage space according to Rainy Adventures. For its price tag of about $44,000, Rainy Adventures also says that it’s a great value compared to similarly-sized truck campers.

Crow Survival praised the 8-11 EX’s quality and design as well. However, both Crow Survival and Rainy Adventures had similar critiques of the 8-11 EX. The bathroom is a bit of a problem area as the toilet paper is placed in a strange location, for instance.

Four Wheel Camper Hawk

The Four Wheel Camper Hawk is one of the most durable truck campers on the market according to Crow Survival. On top of that, the Camper Hawk is very light, and many trucks should be able to handle a Camper Hawk.

Rainy Adventures says that the Camper Hawk can also accommodate up to four adults, but storage space was a concern for both Crow Survival and Rainy Adventures. There aren’t any overhead cabinets, which also lowers the amount of storage space offered by the Camper Hawk compared to other truck campers.

Cirrus 920: a luxurious truck camper

Rainy Adventures notes that the Cirrus 920 is one of the more luxurious options in the truck camper market. Despite being on the smaller side, it has plenty of interior room and it’s loaded with features as well. Some of the more luxurious features include a queen-size bed as well as a wet bath.

It’s also rated as a four season camper and that allows owners of the Cirrus 920 to live in it full-time if they want to. It has a few issues though. One of the cons that Rainy Adventures mentioned is that it could use more countertop space. Crow Survival also mentions that its electrical system may not be the best, but it’s certainly good enough for most folks.

Lance 650: the best of the best

The best truck camper of the year is without a doubt the Lance 650 according to both Crow Survival and Rainy Adventures. Both sites gave the Lance 650 high praise for its spacious and luxurious interior and its affordable price tag of about $22,500.

One of the more unique features mentioned by Rainy Adventures is that the Lance 650 comes with a good-sized and very comfortable memory foam mattress.

Rainy Adventures praised practically every aspect of the Lance 650, and in its review of the truck camper, Rainy Adventures said that the Lance 650 had no flaws. Crow Survival was similar, though Crow Survival mentioned a small potential issue with the weight distribution of the truck camper.
