4. 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe/XL

Consumer Reports ranked the new Santa Fe slightly above the Ford Edge with an overall score of 80. But its upgraded version, the XL, received a higher rating of 81. Topping the list of Consumer Reports’ best-midsize SUVs is the 2019 Subaru Ascent. This car received a near-perfect overall score of 96, with higher scores in reliability and owner satisfaction than any other new midsize SUV.

According to Consumer Reports, the Ascent comes with superior braking power, transmission, ride comfort, and engine performance. Drivers find the Subaru Ascent comfortable, easy, and fun to drive.
