4 Things 2020 Ram ProMasters Have That Earlier Versions Don’t
The 2020 Ram ProMaster van is the truck brand’s flagship cargo vehicle, and it’s easy to see why. The van is loaded to the brim with best-in-class features and a variety of customizable options that make owning and running a business easier than ever. But what’s new for the latest Ram ProMaster and what makes it the best model yet?
1. More available Ram ProMaster configurations
The Ram ProMaster van is designed to get right to work. It is because of this that Ram offers the ProMaster van in a variety of configurations and options. According to Ram Trucks, the 2020 ProMaster 1500, 2500, and 3500 models are available in cargo, window, chassis cab, and cutaway cab body styles. Buyers can also choose between three different wheelbase lengths, as well as a low or high roof. This versatility creates 18 total design and body configurations, available in 10 exterior colors.
2. Better towing and payload capability
According to PR Newswire, Ram hit the 2019 model year with a big improvement that set the Ram ProMaster van apart. This improvement has followed into the 2020 ProMaster’s design with a little extra. Continually improving its capacities and capabilities, the 2019 ProMaster van can tow up to 6,800 lbs – a 30 percent increase from any previous ProMaster.
But the 2020 Ram ProMaster can now tow up to 6,910 lbs when properly equipped with a standard, factory-installed trailer hitch. Though payload capacity hasn’t changed from the 2019 model year, the newest ProMaster can haul more than ever before by combining its versatile configuration and ability to haul up to 4,680 lbs.
3. A more modern look and improved interior
Not only does the exterior of the 2020 Ram ProMaster get some upgrades like new headlights, grille, and bumpers, but an additional sliding cargo door becomes optional as well. The interior comes with a variety of new standard features, like keyless entry, Bluetooth capabilities, and a new rearview camera.
According to Jeep Trend, the 2020 ProMaster comes with a new, more capable dashboard design and a larger, 5-inch infotainment screen. Along with this infotainment system comes standard Uconnect, integrated voice command, and available advanced navigation. Though bucket seating is standard, owners can also choose available swivel seats or configurable bench seating. Rear park-assist technology is also an available option.
4. The same best-in-class features
The 2020 Ram ProMaster offers best-in-class capabilities in a variety of categories. Not only does it have a class-exclusive front-wheel-drive system that allows for better handling, but its powertrain also offers best-in-class standard horsepower.
According to a press release by FCA North America, the 2020 Ram Promaster features best-in-class turning diameter, standard interior cargo height, load-floor height, and cargo width. But its optional features make it one of the most customizable cargo vans on the market.
Are these the changes 2020 Ram ProMaster needs to be the best?
The 2020 ProMaster is meant to be “a purpose-built, highly customizable van designed to exceed the demands of commercial customers and upfitters,” according to the FCA North America press release. It is because of this that Ram also offers a 3-year/unlimited-mileage all panel anti-corrosion warranty and a 5-year/unlimited-mileage outer panel anti-corrosion warranty in addition to Ram’s 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty, 5-year/60,000-mile roadside assistance coverage, and 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty.
According to Ram’s website, the company does even more for ProMaster owners, offering “upfit” packages for customization as well as tech packages that are business-specific.
Though some everyday consumers may find tremendous use out of the Ram ProMaster, the van is innovatively designed to do the most work for business owners across endless industries.
