The 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross starts at $22,445. The 2022 Nissan Rogue Sport starts at $24,760. Both SUVs are subcompact models. The Corolla Cross is 176 inches long, 72 inches wide, and 65 inches tall. The Rogue Sport is 173 inches long, 72 inches wide, and 63 inches tall.

The Corolla Cross provides incredible value for the money. The Rogue provides great value as well, but its starting price may be too close to the starting price of larger SUVs for some consumers.

The Corolla Cross has better fuel economy

The Corolla Cross gets better gas mileage than the Nissan Rogue Sport. The small Toyota SUV gets 31 miles per gallon in the city and 33 miles per gallon on the highway.

The Nissan Rogue Sport achieves gets 25 miles per gallon in the city and 32 miles per gallon on the highway. The two subcompact SUVs are nearly identical in size, but the Corolla Cross is much more fuel-efficient.

The Nissan Rogue Sport isn’t as powerful as the Corolla Cross

The Nissan Rogue Sport uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine to make 141 horsepower. The Corolla Cross uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine as well to make 169 horses.

The Toyota Corolla Cross makes 28 more horses than the Nissan Rogue Sport. It’s slightly more powerful than Nissan’s subcompact SUV model. The difference in horsepower may not seem huge, but it can make all the difference between being underpowered and having engaging driving dynamics.

To be clear, the Corolla Cross doesn’t provide the most exciting ride. Since the Rogue Sport is even less powerful, its acceleration can’t be engaging enough for most drivers. The Hyundai Kona, Kia Soul, Kia Seltos, and Mazda CX-30 all make more horses than the Nissan Rogue Sport.

The 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross is based on the popular Toyota Corolla. The Toyota Corolla has existed since 1966. Consumers enjoy the Corolla because it’s spacious, fuel-efficient, and recent model years come with plenty of standard features.

The Corolla Cross takes everything consumers love about the Corolla and puts it into a slightly larger vehicle. Edmunds praises its cargo space and standard advanced safety features.

The Toyota Corolla is 182 inches long, 70 inches wide, and 56 inches tall. The Corolla Cross is 176 inches long, 72 inches wide, and 65 inches tall. The Corolla is longer, but the Corolla Cross is slighter wider, and much taller.
