The first reason to buy a 2022 Honda CR-V instead of a 2022 Subaru Forester is the CR-V delivers better performance than the Forester. Both of the CR-V’s two engine options have a higher output than one engine offered for the Forester.

The turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine for the CR-V generates 190 horsepower, while the hybrid powertrain in the CR-V Hybrid produces 212 horsepower. However, the Forester’s 2.5-liter flat-four engine generates only 182 horsepower.

With its more powerful engine options, the CR-V provides quicker acceleration than the Forester. The gas-powered CR-V has a 0-60 mph time of 7.8 seconds, while the CR-V Hybrid completes the sprint in 7.5 seconds. In comparison, the 0-60 mph time for the Forester is 8.5 seconds.
