4 men used a rental car in a deadly armored truck robbery
It’s common for criminals to use a rental car to commit crimes instead of using their own vehicles. However, thieves often forget that rental cars and their drivers are well-documented, allowing police officers to track renters down.
4 men use a rental car for an armed robbery
Police officers have four men in custody after they took a rental car from an innocent woman and used it in an armed robbery in North Carolina.
According to QC News, Kings Mountain police officers worked together to serve arrest warrants to four men connected to the shooting and armed robbery of a Loomis Fargo employee.
Unfortunately, the men shot Richard Walter Henderson IV of Charlotte. He was the driver of the armored truck at the time of the incident.
Richard was in the parking lot of Prescriptions Plus off King Street to service an ATM when shots rang out. He was shot in the upper right chest area. Police officers performed CPR for several minutes, but he died at the scene.
The vehicle that the criminals used was a black Jeep Compass. This SUV was rented through a car rental app and police officers have returned it to the owner. There are no reports of damage to the SUV.

The following men have been charged with murder and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon:
- 38-year-old Dominick Anthony Singleton of Norwood
- 29-year-old Jamal Delkis Cunningham of New London
- 28-year-old Malek Isaiah Thomas of Charlotte
- 20-year-old Damareon Laron Dockery of West End
Several agencies worked together to make these arrests. The FBI, SBI, CMPD, Norwood Police, Stanly County Sheriff’s Offices, Moore County Sheriff’s Office, and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Officer were involved in several searches.
