Saving money is on everyone’s mind, and as gas prices rise, there are some easy ways to save cash while driving. All you have to do is head to the iPhone App Store or Google Play and download a handy app. Gas apps are convenient, easy to use, and a great idea when you’re living on a budget. These are a few gas apps to download on your smartphone for fuel economy savings. Let’s take a look at what’s offered.

If you’re a business, you can save fuel costs with the Route4Me Route Planner. It’s an app that creates optimized routes from your customer lists. Routing professionals immediately create the most fuel-saving way for the entire team of drivers. Many businesses use the software, including those involved in food delivery, medical and healthcare, cable and telecommunication, and government and public safety.

Route4Me helps companies with vehicles on the road be greener. According to their website, the software has prevented 10 billion miles from being driven, which reduced CO2 emissions of 10 billion tons since 2010. Energy is saved by reducing driven distances, which also wastes millions of hours annually.

GasBuddy

Next, we have a free gas app that pays you when using the GasBuddy card. It’s a free card that you link to your bank account. You use the app to find and use active deals from popular companies like Old Navy, Advance Auto Parts, and Dicks Sporting Goods. These rewards are automatically loaded onto your GasBuddy card, and then you pay with the card at the pump.

GasBuddy offers more benefits for drivers, like trip planning tools, gas price charts and maps, a fuel logbook, and vehicle recall notifications. Another bonus is that you can get the card with no credit check for free, and there are no interest charges. GasBuddy will save you up to 25 cents per gallon, and over 95% of gas stations in the U.S. accept the card.

GetUpside

If you drive a lot, you might want an app for more than just fuel. It’s a gas app that lets you earn rewards at stations like BP, Valero, Shell, Marathon, and thousands of others. You save up to 25 cents per gallon every time you fuel up. The app is free, you just need to head to GetUpside, and they text you a link to join, so it’s an easy way to save money on gas.

You can also save on your grocery bill with this app. GetUpside will deposit cashback that you get from your purchases right into your bank account. This allows you to use it at popular restaurants like Burger King and Dunkin Donuts for cashback beyond gas.

Fuel Rewards

The gas app from Shell is called Fuel Rewards. The amount you save depends on your status. You save at least 5 cents a gallon with Gold Status or 3 cents a gallon with Silver Status. Right now, everyone who joins automatically gets Gold Status. If you drive professionally, you can join Fuel Rewards Pro for even more savings.

This app also lets you earn fuel rewards through your regular shopping. For example, you get 10 cents off per gallon when you spend $50 at a participating restaurant. You can also earn rewards for online shopping, with 5 cents per gallon off for every $50 you spend at retailers like Home Depot, Staples, and Groupon.

Give one of these gas apps a try and save some easy money on fuel!
