The popular 2023 Honda CR-V compact crossover underwent some changes for the new model year. As a result, there are things, new and old, to love about the model. The CR-V is completely redesigned from the ground up for 2023 and enters its sixth generation since its 1995 introduction. One essential highlight of the redesign is a much more spacious interior. What are the three things to love about the new 2023 Honda CR-V?

1. Honda improved everything about the CR-V

According to HotCars, the automaker improved everything about the 2023 Honda CR-V. For the most part, automakers redesign vehicles, only improving upon a few small areas that need updating. Instead, the new Honda CR-V is better in nearly every way. For example, it’s larger, sportier, and has a far more spacious interior than ever. Features the compact crossover already had are now fancier, or “more refined,” as HotCars put it. Next, the improved engine has better efficiency and response, while the all-wheel drive is better than ever.

In short, the new CR-V has everything the old version does, plus more. The EX and EX-L models are gasoline-only, but the Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid use dual electric motors for their hybrid powertrains. These two desirable hybrids start at $33,695 and $39,845, respectively, which makes them surprisingly affordable compared with rivals. The new model year’s exterior body style has changed significantly, as with most redesigns.

2. Same engines, better output

Next, the engine you’ll find under the hood of the new 2023 Honda CR-V remains the same as the 2022 model year. It remains a standard turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder that’s good for producing 190 horsepower. Additionally, it uses an automatic CVT and comes in front- or all-wheel drive. Furthermore, the other engine option is a hybrid setup with a little more pep than its base alternative.

The hybrid powertrain uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with two electric motors to produce an output of 204 horsepower. As a result, the CR-V gets the job done for what compact crossover drivers need but don’t expect it to win any races. Moreover, buying the front-wheel drive Sport Hybrid model grants owners the best fuel economy. On average, it’ll get 43 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway, according to EPA estimates.

3. New 2023 Honda CR-V has a luxurious interior

The interior is one of the best improvements to the new 2023 Honda CR-V. Since owners spend all of their time inside a vehicle, it’s essential to have it exactly the way you want. First, as we mentioned earlier, it’s more spacious than ever. A roomy compact crossover is rare, so plenty of space for passengers and cargo is essential. That’s why it’s great that there’s more leg and cargo room, including more storage spaces to place things.

Next, a new 7.0-inch digital gauge cluster display is behind the steering wheel with an analog speedometer. These offer better control to the drive for what they want to see. In addition, front seats are ergonomically improved, excellent for long road trips. The EX and Sport trim use a 7.0-inch touchscreen for infotainment, while the upper trims get a 9.0-inch unit. Furthermore, higher trims also get Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, USB ports, and a wireless phone charger. Lastly, buying the range-topping Sport Touring model provides improved audio with a 12-speaker Bose system.

Things to love about the new Honda CR-V

In conclusion, there are a few things to love about the all-new 2023 Honda CR-V. Since it’s redesigned from the ground up, nearly everything about it is improved. Next, it uses the same familiar engines but with better power and fuel economy. Finally, the redesigned interior is packed with excellent standard features, more space for passengers and cargo, and feels more luxurious all-around.
