The Chrysler 300, like its sibling car, the Dodge Charger, has a bittersweet 2023 ahead of it. Most notably, the 2023 Chrysler 300 will be the last of its kind after nearly 20 years of being one of the last big, comfortable American cruisers. However, before the curtains draw shut on the Chrysler sedan, the car still has a model year ahead of it with some redeeming features to boast. In fact, there are three things to celebrate about the doomed model, even though it’s a bit dated. 

The 2023 Chrysler 300’s engine options tick many boxes

The Chrysler 300 is leaving production, but not without making some noise first. The 2023 lineup starts with the 3.6L Pentastar V6, which produces 292 horsepower in its standard state. Moreover, U.S. News points out that potential owners can marry up the V6 to optional all-wheel drive (AWD), which makes the Chrysler model a solid option for drivers in challenging climates with lots of precipitation. Better yet, fans who want their 300 to be a sleeper sedan can opt for the 300S’ V8 upgrade, a 5.7L Hemi V8 that produces 363 horsepower.

In addition to the optional 5.7L Hemi V8 in the 300S trim, Chrysler unveiled a limited-run 300C trim for the last model year of the 300. Instead of the healthy 5.7L Hemi, the 300C packs a 485-horsepower 6.4L V8. Like the Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack, the 6.4L mill turns the sedan into a tire-terrorizing sleeper sedan. Car and Driver reports that the special edition Chrysler sedan will hit 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds; if you can get the tires to hook up without destroying themselves. 

Are 2023 Chrysler 300s comfortable?

While the 2023 Chrysler 300 might not be up to Mercedes-Benz standards of luxury, the 300 punches above its weight regarding comfort and serene quietness. The Chrysler sedan eagerly competes with more expensive rivals in ride quality and comfort standards.

The large Chrysler model is spacious, with around 16.3 cubic feet of cargo volume. That makes the 300 directly comparable to the Dodge Charger. Better yet, the 300 has ample interior space and seating for five. In fact, Car and Driver says the new 300’s ride is comfortable even at the base model level.

In addition to generous interior space and effortless acceleration courtesy of a library of engines, the new 300’s interior aesthetic and infotainment system is attractive and user-friendly. The Chrysler sedan’s easy-to-use Uconnect system allows passengers to access information and entertainment without a doctorate.

According to TrueCar, the Chrysler sedan’s 8.4-inch touchscreen is larger than competitors like the Nissan Maxima. Specifically, the 2023 Maxima has an 8-inch unit. As a result, the 300 has a more spacious cabin, trunk, and larger infotainment screen than the Nissan sedan.   

Is 2023 the last year for Chrysler 300?

Unfortunately for fans of the model, 2023 will be the Chrysler 300’s last production year. That is until Stellantis green-lights a hybridized or electrified replacement for the car. However, with the prevalence of SUVs and crossovers in the American market, the 300 might be the last of its kind.
