The Jeep Wrangler has long been the reigning SUV champion of driving off-road. Its closest competitor in today’s market is the Ford Bronco. Both of these SUVs excel while driving off-road; however, they differ in many ways. There are a few reasons to buy a Ford Bronco, not a Jeep Wrangler. Here’s what makes the Bronco a better choice.

Reasons to buy a Ford Bronco: it’s just as good off-road as the Jeep Wrangler

One of the main reasons to buy a Bronco instead of a Wrangler is its off-road capability. The two SUVs are nearly equal if you want to drive your SUV through the mud, dirt, or other terrains. Specifically, the Ford Bronco is riddled with features to make it more than capable. For instance, it comes with a terrain-management system with seven driving modes. These directly impact the steering, handling, and powertrain performance and are aptly named “GOAT” modes, which stands for “Goes Over Any Type of Terrain.”

Additionally, the front trail camera is one of the coolest off-road features we’ve ever seen. Consumer Reports called it the best part of the Bronco’s driving modes and off-road features. Using the infotainment screen, the front trail camera shows the road ahead. Only it shows it from the view of the tires and bottom of the SUV. This way, it’s easy to place the tires carefully where they need to be, avoid small obstacles on the ground, and overall, stay safe.

The Bronco is a better everyday vehicle than the Wrangler

There are some ways in which the Wrangler is advantageous for driving off-road. However, most people spend their time on the road. If you’re buying one of these vehicles to drive every day, the Bronco is the better choice. According to Consumer Reports, the Ford Bronco has a more comfortable ride and more responsive handling than the Jeep Wrangler. CR’s Bronco tester put it perfectly, “The Bronco offers the rugged styling and 95 percent of the Wrangler’s off-road cred while being much more livable day-to-day.”

Most people don’t buy an SUV just to drive off-road. Although off-roading is still an option, the Bronco succeeds on the road compared to the Wrangler. Every Ford Bronco is an excellent option for hauling families, commuting to work, and so much more. Overall, the Ford Bronco is better than the Jeep Wrangler as an everyday vehicle.

Every Ford Bronco comes with safety features

Regardless of trim level, every Ford Bronco comes with plenty of safety features. Some of these include forward-collision warning and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. Additionally, optional features like blind-spot, rear cross-traffic, and lane departure warnings, plus lane-keeping assistance, are all available.

The Jeep Wrangler doesn’t come standard with any active safety features. In addition, features like pedestrian detection, lane departure, and lane-keeping assistance are entirely unavailable. Not only do these features keep you and your family safe, but they can also sometimes lower insurance costs. More safety features are always a good thing, and the Bronco is winning in this department.

3 reasons to buy a Ford Bronco, not a Jeep Wrangler

There are plenty of reasons to buy one of these SUVs and not the other. However, we think these three give the Ford Bronco a significant advantage over the iconic Jeep Wrangler. Advantages include nearly equivalent off-road capability and features, the Bronco is a better everyday driver, and it has more safety features, standard and optional. Considering all of this, Ford’s SUV is a much better option than Jeep’s.
