Honda recently unveiled the 2023 Honda Accord, and it looks promising. The popular mid-size sedan has new sheet metal, new features, improved safety, and an upgraded hybrid powertrain. However, a gas powertrain is still available, but only on the base LX and EX models. That made us wonder if the 2023 Accord LX would be worth buying, considering the upper trims have many more features and a gas-saving hybrid engine. Here are three reasons why it is.

1. The 2023 Honda Accord LX comes standard with a good amount of tech features

The 2023 Honda Accord is available with updated tech features like a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a Bose premium sound system, and onboard Google apps. However, the base Accord LX doesn’t come with any of those. That doesn’t mean it’s a bare-bone shell, though.

The 2023 Accord LX comes with a good amount of tech features that will suit anyone that doesn’t care for all of that fancy stuff. The entry-level model comes standard with a 7-inch infotainment screen with physical volume and tuning knobs, two USB-C ports, Apple Carplay/Android Auto compatibility, and a 10.2-inch digital instrument panel. Sure, it may not be loaded, but we think the new Accord LX still has much to offer.

2. The Honda Accord LX comes standard with a turbocharged engine

For 2023, the Honda Accord LX and EX come with a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine that generates 192 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque. OK, so it’s the same engine as the one found in the outgoing model. However, it’s a good one. This time, you can only get it with a CVT, but there are a couple of different drive modes that you can put it in to tailor your driving experience to be more fuel-efficient.

The 2023 Honda Accord Is Stacked With Many Essential Tech-Savvy Features

In addition to the small list of tech features and the efficient gasoline engine, the 2023 Honda Accord LX will come standard with many new and improved safety features. Some of the features include an updated Honda Sensing safety suite of driver-assist technologies. Honda beefed up the front camera system with a 90-degree field of view and a wider-angle radar with a 120-degree view.

Honda says that the wider angle improves collision prevention and improves the system’s ability to recognize people, white lines, boundaries, and cyclists. One other new standard safety feature on the Accord is the Traffic Jam Assist, which makes stop-and-go traffic a lot more bearable. Honda could have easily offered these features solely on the higher-trimmed Accords, but it’s great that they come standard on the base LX.

The 2023 Honda Accord LX could be worth the money

Honda has not released the official pricing for the 2023 Accord, but we estimate it should start at around $27,000. That’s not bad for a mid-size sedan with premium materials and a lot of standard features. Also, if all you need is the base model without all of the fancy stuff, then the Accord LX is definitely worth that price.
