The 2022 Kia EV6 will be one of the best electric SUV models of the year in 2022 based on its specs. It could dethrone the Tesla Model Y as the best-selling electric SUV model. Here are three reasons why the 2022 Kia EV6 is a Tesla Model Y Killer.

The Tesla Model Y is already struggling with price fluctuation issues

Tesla was on top of the world… then the EV market got much more competitive. 2021 was an amazing year for electric vehicles. Unfortunately for Tesla, more competition offers means more scrutiny and careful consideration. The Model Y is no longer the only game in town, and it’s far from the most affordable.

The Tesla Model Y was once $39,999, as was the popular Tesla Model 3. These vehicles were even more affordable after federal electric vehicle tax incentives. Today, Tesla is struggling with supply issues as some Model Y trims are completely unavailable.

The only Model Y trims that are currently available as of Winter 2021 are the Long Range and Performance models. The Long Range model starts at $54,190. The Performance model starts at $51,190. The Tesla Model Y’s price hikes and limited availability will undoubtedly affect the EV’s sales.

The Model Y was once an affordable option, but like many other Tesla models, it fell victim to the automaker’s erratic price fluctuations. The Model Y’s high price leaves room for models like the 2022 Kia EV6 to swoop in and take the attention of consumers away from the expensive electric crossover.

The 2022 Kia EV6 has the second-farthest range in the automotive industry

The Tesla Model Y may have more range than the Kia EV6, but it doesn’t completely outshine the South Korean electric SUV. The Tesla Model Y Long Range model is capable of roughly 330 miles of electric range before needing to recharge.

This range is impressive, but the Kia EV6 isn’t too far behind in range. According to The Drive, the 2022 Kia EV6 has a maximum range of 310 miles. Pricing has yet to be released for the electric SUV, but it is likely to be similar to the South Korean Hyundai Ioniq 5’s price.

Thanks to the EV6’s range, it will be an amazing Tesla Model Y alternative. The new electric SUV offers enough range to help consumers avoid range anxiety.

The 2022 Kia EV6 will be one of the most capable electric SUVs of the year. It has great range and enough power to keep drivers happy. Both the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 will be great electric SUV options for consumers.

If drivers are looking for an EV with a little more oomph to it, the Kia EV6 also comes in a GT trim. The Kia EV6 GT makes a whopping 577 horsepower using its electric motor system. It’s shaping up to be the most exciting electric SUV of 2022.
