While many cars, trucks, and SUVs receive high marks from experts and owners, that wasn’t the case for the least reliable SUVs for 2023. While these are some sport utility vehicles that didn’t impress in the first few months of ownership, Edmunds has a more reliable suggestion to look into.

The Lincoln Aviator is one of the least reliable SUVs for 2023

Now more than ever, buyers are looking for reliable and durable vehicles that will last a long time. Buying a new car usually means a stress-free ownership experience and limited trips to the dealership, but that isn’t always the case.

Edmunds gave the 2023 Lincoln Aviator a low score for reliability. Giving the Aviator a 7.7 out of 10 overall landed the luxury SUV in the back of its class. The new Aviator has a refreshed design and quick acceleration, but the positives mostly end there. It has underwhelming fuel economy, and while it looks more significant from the outside, owners report cramped head space in the cabin. If you are looking for a more reliable option, check out the 2022 Audi Q7.

Edmunds reports that the subpar interior quality holds this SUV back, and its high starting price doesn’t help. Skip the Explorer and check out the 2023 Kia Telluride.

While the Jeep Gladiator is a truck, it didn’t impress the experts

In general, some publications are not a fan of the 2023 Jeep Gladiator. Even though the experts gave the Gladiator an overall reliability score on the low end, not everyone felt the same way. The Jeep truck has good off-road scores and is one of the only convertible trucks on the market. It also offers a large back seat for people or things. The steering could use some improvement, and the ride can be a bit jiggly, but owners reported various issues with the Gladiator over time. What option did Edmunds suggest in place of the Gladiator? The 2023 Toyota Tacoma checks all of the buyers’ boxes.
