Looking at 10-year-old Expeditions, iSeeCars says the average price is around $15,584. The Ford Expedition has the potential to last 244,682 miles or more. Somehow the experts at iSeeCars also determined that if you purchase an Expedition for that price, it will cost you only $143 for every 1,000 miles.

Even if you hunt down a good deal on a 2012 Ford Expedition with 100,000 miles on it, it still has the potential to run another 130,000 miles with proper care and maintenance. As far as Ford trucks and SUVs go for reliability and potential lifespan, the Expedition is worth another look.

Ford trucks and SUVs like the Edge will last more than 200,000 miles

The Ford Edge also made the list of best Ford trucks and SUVs for the money. iSeeCars found that a 10-year-old Edge only costs around $12,741 and has the potential to run 203,662 miles. That works out to about $160 per 1,000 miles, which is quite affordable.

The SUV segment average is $166 per every $1,000 miles with an average price of $16,201. Although the industry average for the potential lifespan is 224,512 miles, a little longer than the average Edge might last. Either way, the Ford Edge is a budget-friendly SUV that should last many years with routine maintenance.

Don’t overlook the F-150 pickup truck for a long-lasting vehicle

For Ford trucks and SUVs that will last a long time, the F-150 made the list. With a potential lifespan of 232,650 miles, the F-150 made it on the list of the top 10 trucks. iSeeCars estimates it will only cost about $199 per 1,000 miles to run the Ford F-150, but a 10-year-old version will only run you $19,819.

The industry average for pickup trucks is $191 per 1,000 miles with an average lifespan of 228,059 miles. For the average price of $19,552, the F-150 is just marginally more expensive. The Ford F-Series has been the best-selling truck for 46 years, which only adds to its positive reputation. Ford also offers the F-Series in everything from a basic work truck all the way up to the $100,000 electric Lightning now. No words on the lifespan potential for that yet, though.

The good news is that the list of Ford trucks and SUVs for reliability has three good options. Most automakers did not have as many sport utility vehicles and trucks that could last 200,000 miles or more. Keeping up with routine maintenance, such as oil changes and coolant flushes, will help keep your car in good shape.
