The Nissan Kicks starts at just $20,440. It uses a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine to make 122 horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque. The subcompact SUV gets 31 miles per gallon in the city and 36 miles per gallon on the highway.

The Kicks is praised for its affordability and tech features. Kelley Blue Book claims the SUV has plenty of cargo space and great gas mileage. The 2023 Nissan Kicks is hardly the best subcompact SUV in its segment, but it does provide good value for the money. It comes in three different configurations.

The 2023 Kia Soul starts at just $19,890. It uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine to make 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. The SUV achieves 29 miles per gallon in the city and 35 miles per gallon on the highway.

Kia’s affordable SUV model comes in four configurations. The most expensive Soul configuration is the Soul EX, which starts at $24,190. Its final configuration comes standard with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a wireless phone charger, and heated side-view mirrors.

The 2023 Soul is one of the best options in its segment for the money. It’s a great sedan alternative, that’s perfect for shuttling around town.

The 2023 Hyundai Venue is the cheapest new SUV

South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor Company produces several of the most impactful SUV nameplates on the market between its portfolio of brands. The Hyundai Venue is the most affordable SUV option that money can buy. It starts at $19,650. Car and Driver compliments its “attractive starting price.”

The Venue uses a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine to make 121 horsepower and 113 lb-ft of torque. It’s far from the most powerful model in its segment, but you get what you pay for with the Venue. It gets 29 miles per gallon in the city and 33 miles per gallon on the highway.

The 2023 Hyundai Venue comes in three configurations. Its most expensive configuration is just $22,900. The Venue Limited comes standard with heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and wireless device charging. Hyundai offers accessories like roof rack cross rails and a cargo package. There are plenty of new subcompact SUVs that are on the more affordable side for drivers on a tight budget.
