The 2024 Acura Integra provides a luxury alternative to the new Honda Civic. However, even with a corner-ready Type S variant, the Acura model isn’t up to the standards of some comparable cars. Check out three Acura Integra and Integra Type S alternatives that could be a much better bet than the luxury sports liftback, like the Audi S3 and Cadillac CT4.

What is an Acura Integra comparable to?

The 2024 Acura Integra is comparable to several luxury cars with performance variants. For instance, these luxury models provide an alternative to every Integra trim.

  • Audi A3, S3
  • BMW 2 Series
  • Cadillac CT4, CT4-V

The entry-level 2023 BMW 2 Series and Audi A3 might start at a higher price point than the base model Integra, but the German luxury sedans and coupes are solid alternatives to the Acura model. Moreover, the Cadillac CT4 and CT4-V are unorthodox challengers to the Integra and its driving dynamics.

How fast is an Audi S3?

The 2023 Audi S3 will hit 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds on its way to a 12.9-second quarter mile. As expected, the latest S3 is faster than the A3. Specifically, the 2023 A3 will hit 60 mph around 1.7 seconds slower than the S3.

The extra speed is no surprise; the S3 produces 306 horsepower from its 2.0L turbo four-cylinder engine, around 105 more than the A3. Still, both the A3 and S3 are viable alternatives for the Acura Integra. For instance, Car and Driver coaxed the Integra A-Spec Manual and Automatic to 60 mph in 7.0 and 7.1 seconds, respectively.

What does the BMW 2 Series compete with?

The BMW 2 Series will compete with the Audi A3 and Acura Integra. Moreover, the 2 Series’ top trim, the M240i xDrive, will outperform the Audi S3 and Acura Integra Type S. Specifically, the launch-happy M240i xDrive will hit 60 mph in around 3.6 seconds.

As a result, the M240i xDrive will almost certainly outrun the top-trim Acura Integra Type S. The Type S uses much of the same architecture as the new 2023 Honda Civic Type R, which made the sprint in around 4.9 seconds. On the other hand, the M240i xDrive will complete the run 0.2 seconds faster than the Toyota GR Supra 3.0 that shares its powerplant.

Is the Cadillac CT4-V fast?

The 2023 Cadillac CT4-V will hit 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds, putting it on par with a manual S550 Ford Mustang GT. Better yet, the four-cylinder sleeper sedan will outrun the 2024 Acura Integra A-Spec by a wide margin and cost less than the Type S by around $4,000.

At the lower trims, the CT4 can dash to 60 mph in around 4.7 seconds, faster than the A-Spec by about 1.3 seconds.
