Nothing gets Americans quite as excited as the prospect of a new full-size truck does. And that is why automotive brands place so many resources into this segment. From Ram to Toyota, most companies offer some type of full-size pickup. And these three, including the 2022 Toyota Tundra, Ram 1500, and Chevy Silverado 1500, might have the fewest problems.

3. 2022 Toyota Tundra

The Tundra has long been Toyota’s full-size pickup truck. And while it has faced some reliability issues in the past, generally speaking, it’s a good place to start when shopping for a full-size truck. In 2022, the Tundra does have some notable features. It’s the only full-size truck that does not feature a V8 engine, while at the same time, it does boast an optional hybrid engine.

Although the Tundra does start at a higher price point than some of the competition, it does come with plenty of standard features. If you are interested in off-roading your full-size truck, opt for the TRD Off-Road package. This adds an electronically locking rear differential, beefier suspension, and other features.

2. 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500

Although General Motors has a bit of a rocky track record with quality, the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 makes for a solid full-size truck. According to Car and Driver, a perk of this pickup is its diverse engine lineup. But don’t expect it to be luxurious as the Ram 1500.

1. 2022 Ram 1500

When you think about a full-size truck, it is likely that a Ram 1500 comes to mind. Along with the Ford F-150, it really does set the bar of what it means to be a pickup. The 2022 Ram 1500 has a pretty solid reliability score, and it takes being a luxury truck to the next level.

Now, Ram does still make the 1500 to work-truck spec. But when you step into models like the Laramie or Limited, it’s clear this vehicle focuses on comfort.

You can get the 2022 Ram 1500 with the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine. It can also tow up to 12,750 pounds and haul up to 2,320 lbs.

Which full-size truck should you buy?

In terms of which full-size truck you should buy, the best method is to test drive them. Each pickup brings something unique to the table, and a Ram will be fairly different from a Toyota. For the most part, brands aim to produce reliable trucks. Especially in today’s world, when they are so popular.
