New electric SUV, who is this? The 2026 Nissan Leaf just launched its third generation with phenomenal improvements. For example, it shed its dorky past to be cooler than the high school quarterback in the cafeteria.
What’s new for the 2026 Nissan Leaf?
The 2026 Nissan Leaf was just redesigned, inside and out to provide a sleek new style that’s packed with modern tech and power. For example, the 75-kWh battery provides an EPA-estimated 303 miles of range.
Plus, it’s paired with a single motor to crank out 214 hp and 261 lb-ft of torque. The base S model has 174 hp and 254 lb-ft of torque, but the outgoing model only started with 147 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque.
Nissan estimates that the Leaf EV can charge from 10 to 80% in about 35 minutes with a DC fast charger. Plus, it can power external devices.
Passenger and cargo space has been improved thanks to the new aerodynamic shape and style. Plus, the seats are more comfortable than before.
The interior features two 14.3-inch infotainment screens, standard wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. There are plenty of physical buttons for drive modes and HVAC controls. Physical buttons are used to control the 64-color ambient lighting and 360-degree camera.
The new Leaf also has Nissan’s first electronically dimming panoramic roof. Safety features include automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and blind-spot intervention.
Best of all, the 2026 Nissan Leaf is expected to remain affordable. Higher trim levels are expected to start around $35,000. However, the Base S model should have a much lower price when it arrives a bit later.
