The 2026 Jeep Compass just went through puberty while going electric
Have you seen the 2026 Jeep Compass? It might be hard to recognize because now it’s all grown up. It went from being called Junior to Sir or Ma’am. (The gender of an SUV is determined by the owner that names it). Check out its complete redesign.
The 2026 Jeep Compass is looking all grown up
I’m still salty about my beloved Jeep Renegade being canceled. However, the 2026 Jeep Compass could fill the compact, boxy-shaped hole in my heart.
It was completely redesigned and flaunts a rugged style that incorporates a refreshed version of the iconic seven-slot grille. It’s also larger than before. It may enter mid-size territory with an abundance of passenger and cargo space.
New tech includes a 10.0-inch digital gauge cluster, a 16.0-inch infotainment system, and Level 2 driving assistance. It should prove to be safer and more advanced than the outgoing generation.
For off-roading, it has a ground clearance of 7.9-inches, a 20-degree approach angle, 15-degree breakover angle, and a departure angle of 26 degrees.
The new Compass offers three powertrains globally, including a hybrid, PHEV, and fully electric variant. Depending on which options you choose, it delivers between 145 to 375 hp. But the American variant could have different engines available.
Speaking of the American variant, it just got delayed due to tariffs as the 2026 Jeep Compass was planned to be built in Canada.
According to Kelley Blue Book, Stallantis shared that it’s reassessing its product strategy, and work on the next-generation Compass has been paused. I think Stellantis will figure out how to make it work as the Compass has been quite popular in North America with increasing sales.
