The 2025 Ford Maverick gets another ridiculous price increase
It seems like Ford sold the soul of the Maverick for profit. It was brought to life as a compact truck to provide people with an affordable option. However, with continuous price increases the 2025 Ford Maverick is far from practical.
How much does the 2025 Ford Maverick cost?
The 2025 Ford Maverick starts at $27,990. This price includes the $1,595 destination fee. The 2024 model started at $24,885 including the destination fee. So, the Maverick got a year-over-year price increase of $3,015.
In roughly two years the tiny but mighty Maverick has received insane price increases. When it came out in 2022 it had an MSRP of $19,995 to provide people with a compact option that was under $20,000.
However, Maverick models quickly began to sell at much higher prices. It arrived with a sales boom that continued to grow and demand is still struggling to keep up.
According to Good Car Bad Car, the 2024 Maverick sold 157,345 trucks in 2024. The Ranger only sold 46,205 models, and the Toyota Tacoma sold 192,813 models. Also, the Chevrolet Colorado sold 98,013 trucks.
The Maverick is still cheaper than mid-size trucks. For example, the 2025 Ranger starts at $34,575 with the destination fee included.

Of course, truck prices are increasing due to inflation, rising material costs, and supply chain shortages. But the original promise of the affordable Maverick is gone.
Plus, the Maverick received a mid-cycle refresh for 2025. It got a new face, updated tech, and now the hybrid engine can finally be paired with AWD. The hybrid engine is standard, adding AWD costs $2,220.
The standard Maverick XL model remains pretty basic with cloth upholstery, 17-inch steel wheels, manual climate control, and a no push-button start.
