The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport Outshines the Honda CR-V and Chevrolet Trailblazer in reliability
When you buy an SUV, you want it to last. Through bitterly cold winters, spicy summers, and high mileage, your ride needs to get you there. However, popularity doesn’t mean quality and reliability. The people have spoken, and consumer reliability scores put the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport ahead of the Honda CR-V and Chevrolet Trailblazer.
The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport gets segment-topping quality and reliability scores from J.D. Power
According to consumer-generated quality and reliability scores from J.D. Power, the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport earned bragging rights in the segment. Specifically, the less-modular version of Ford’s popular Bronco scored an 88 out of 100 in terms of quality and reliability.
To arrive at that number, J.D. Power weighed consumer reports of faults, design issues, production defects, and failures. Overall, consumer satisfaction with quality and reliability put the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport ahead of the Honda CR-V, Chevrolet Trailblazer, and other popular SUVs.
The 2025 Honda CR-V, on the other hand, received an 84 out of 100 for quality and reliability. What’s more, the Chevrolet Trailblazer managed to score higher than the CR-V with an 86, if also falling short of the Bronco Sport.
However, the lower J.D. Power reliability score didn’t stop the Honda CR-V from out-selling the Bronco Sport in 2024. The CR-V was the fifth best-selling SUV in the country. Americans took home over 400,000 CR-Vs last year. By contrast, the Bronco Sport isn’t anywhere to be found in the top 20 best-selling rides.
Of course, it’s not all good news for Ford’s Escape-based Bronco SUV. For starters, the Bronco Sport’s resale value isn’t exactly segment-leading. It earned a 78 out of 100 for resale, suggesting worse depreciation than its direct competition. In comparison, the Honda CR-V earned an 85 out of 100 for resale value, landing it in the “Great” category. The Chevrolet Trailblazer wasn’t far behind at 84.
