Kia is a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company. Hyundai and Kia have produced two of the most impactful electric SUVs of the year: the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6. The Ioniq 5 is the World Car of the Year, and the Kia EV6 competes with the best in its vehicle segment.

Expect the 2024 Kia EV9 to push the envelope because South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor Company is producing successful electric vehicle nameplates. Aside from EVs, the automaker also has a track record of producing incredible SUVs in recent years.

The Kia Telluride and its cousin the Hyundai Palisade dominate the midsize SUV segment. Multiple automotive publications and critics call the Kia Telluride the best midsize SUV on the market. The EV9 could be Telluride-inspired. Since the midsize SUV is so popular, it would be remiss of the automaker not to incorporate some of the Telluride’s characteristics into the EV9’s design language.

What can we expect from the 2024 Kia EV9?

Expect the Kia EV9 to offer futuristic tech. The Kia EV6 has available navigation-based smart cruise control with stop and go, remote smart parking assist, and an onboard power generator. The EV6 also has available heated and ventilated seats, ultra-fast DC charging capability, and a range-preserving heat pump.

The EV9 will incorporate many of the EV6’s best and most modern features. It could even introduce some completely new features. The Ioniq 5 electric SUV has available ambient lighting, a digital key, and a heads-up display with augmented reality functions. The EV9 could include some of the same features as its cousin, the smaller Ioniq 5.

Kia has kept many EV9 details under wraps, but if the electric SUV is anything like the EV6, prepare to be impressed. South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor Company is producing some of the coolest EVs on the market, and these electric vehicles should only get better with time. Car and Driver claims that the EV9 should arrive as a 2024 model year in early 2023.
