The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST is easily the most exciting Silverado EV trim level. It’s also the most expensive. In fact, the Silverado EV RST is more expensive than the Rivian R1T Launch Edition and the Ford F-150 Lightning Platinum.

The Silverado EV RST starts at over $105,000. According to Inverse, a fully loaded Silverado EV RST costs $106,695. The electric pickup truck’s final trim level is much too pricey for the average consumer, but its performance specs are tough to ignore.

The quick electric truck makes 664 horsepower and 780 lb-ft of torque. It can go from 0-60 miles per hour in just 4.5 seconds. That makes the electric vehicle one of the fastest trucks ever made (once it’s produced). The Silverado EV RST is almost as quick as a Ram 1500 TRX. Not bad for an electric vehicle.

Long range models are estimated to get over 400 miles of driving range. The electric pickup can tow up to 10,000 pounds. Chevy’s pickup truck packs a punch, but can it compete with America’s first electric truck?

The 2022 Rivian R1T Launch Edition is the original electric truck powerhouse

Despite Ford’s claims, the Rivian R1T is actually America’s first pickup truck. The R1T Launch Edition starts at $85,000. The expensive electric pickup is still much more affordable than the Silverado EV RST.

The 2022 Rivian R1T Launch Edition makes a massive 835 horsepower. It produces an exhilarating 908 lb-ft of torque. MotorTrend calls the R1T Launch Edition “the quickest truck” they’ve ever tested. It goes from 0-60 miles per hour in just 3.2 seconds.

Launching the R1T Launch Edition is as close to being in a spaceship as many Americans will ever get. This truck’s acceleration is a gut punch in the most exciting way possible.

2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST vs. 2022 Rivian R1T Launch Edition

The Silverado EV RST costs over $20,000 more than the Rivian R1T Launch Edition. The R1T Launch Edition is quicker an more powerful than the Silverado EV RST.

The Silverado EV RST long range model has more driving range than the Rivian R1T Launch Edition. The Rivian R1T Launch Edition is the better buy because it’s more affordable and more powerful. The R1T Launch Edition is practically unrivaled. Tom’s Guide claims that the Silverado EV will be released in spring 2023.
