The Chevrolet Blazer EV will be Chevy’s first electric midsize SUV model. Chevy has already produced the Bolt EUV for the electric subcompact SUV, but the electric midsize SUV segment could be even more competitive. The Blazer EV will have to compete with the best the industry has to offer to stand out. This means that the Blazer EV’s pricing, range, and power output will be compared to the most popular electric SUVs. Is the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV worth reserving, or are there other electric SUVs you should keep an eye on?

Is the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV worth reserving?

The 2024 Chevy Blazer EV is Chevrolet’s attempt at producing the most popular electric SUV. It will battle against models like the Ford Mustang Mach-E, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, and Volkswagen ID.4 for the top spot.

Chevy EVs, like other American-made EVs, have the advantage of a newly proposed federal electric vehicle tax incentive that benefits them. The revised federal electric vehicle tax incentive program was proposed as a part of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. If the act passes through the House of Representatives without any major changes, automakers like General Motors and Ford will reap the most benefits from the new incentive.

The 2024 Chevy Blazer EV boasts some impressive performance specs. Chevrolet claims that the Blazer EV RS trim has an estimated 320 miles of driving range. That’s incredible range by today’s standards. The Blazer EV SS performance trim can go from 0-60 miles per hour in under 4.0 seconds when in Wide Open Watts mode.

The current reservation fee is just $100, and it’s completely refundable. The Blazer EV 2LT and EV RS models will be the first to release in Summer 2023. The Blazer EV is worth reserving for drivers interested in GM’s newest electric SUV nameplate. The EV has plenty to offer at upper trim levels, but what about pricing?

How much does the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV cost?

The 2024 Chevy Blazer EV has an estimated MSRP starting around $44,995. If the Blazer EV does qualify for the proposed new federal electric vehicle tax incentive program, its starting price would be closer to $37,495.

Car and Driver claims that the SS trim will start at $65,995. The Blazer EV is affordable, but the most capable trims will cost a pretty penny. Its affordability is average based on today’s electric SUV prices. The base model gets up to 247 miles of range. Not too shabby for an electric vehicle that starts under $40K.

According to GM Authority, the Blazer EV will be made at GM’s Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico. Ford also assembles its electric SUV, the Mustang Mach-E, in Mexico.

The Chevy Blazer EV has the potential to become the most popular electric SUV in America thanks to its impressive driving range and affordability.
