The redesigned third-generation 2022 Toyota Tundra full-size pickup truck debuted last year. It earned rave reviews — with its attractive styling and elevated performance. Following the redesign, the 2023 Tundra is primarily a carryover model. However, it offers an SX Package with bold styling. Find out the release date, price, specs, and new features of the 2023 Toyota Tundra.
When will the 2023 Toyota Tundra be released and available?
The release date of the 2023 Toyota Tundra will likely be in late Summer 2022. It will be available to buy at Toyota dealerships throughout the United States, as well as in select international markets. The Tundra is built at the Toyota plant in San Antonio, Texas.
How much does the 2023 Toyota Tundra cost?
Toyota didn’t yet release the price information of the 2023 Tundra. However, the 2023 Tundra will likely cost slightly more than the 2022 Tundra. The starting price of the 2022 Tundra is $35,950 MSRP for the Double Cab models and $38,000 MSRP for the CrewMax models.
2023 Tundra specs: Engine options, fuel economy, and towing
Buyers of the 2023 Toyota Tundra have a choice of two engine options. The standard i-FORCE 3.5L twin-turbo V-6 engine generates 389 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. For even greater performance, pickup truck buyers can get the i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain. Combining a twin-turbo V-6 engine with a motor-generator, it doles out 437 hp and 583 lb-ft of torque.
Both of the engines for the Tundra are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Also, the pickup truck can be equipped with a rear-wheel drive system or a traction-enhancing four-wheel-drive system.
For fuel economy, the Tundra gets an estimated gas mileage of up to 18 city/24 highway mpg with the i-FORCE 3.5L twin-turbo V-6 engine and 20 city/24 highway mpg with the i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain. Also, the Tundra has a maximum towing capacity of 12,000 pounds.
Features in the 2023 Tundra SX Package
The only significant difference between the 2023 Tundra and the 2022 Tundra is the availability of the SX Package. The Tundra offers the SX Package exclusively on SR5 Double Cab trims with a 6.5-foot bed and SR5 CrewMax trims with a 5.5-foot bed.
With its various styling enhancements, the SX Package gives the Tundra a bolder look. This includes Dark Gray Metallic 18-inch wheels, black door handles and rear inboard bumper, and removed door badges for a minimalist appearance. Also, the SX Package has a blacked-out 4×4 badge on the tailgate of applicable 4×4 models. Additionally, there are black trim accents throughout the interior.
Buyers of the Tundra SX Package can choose from four exterior paint color options. This includes Midnight Black Metallic, Celestial Silver Metallic, Magnetic Gray Metallic, and White.
The Tundra SX Package, along with the rest of the 2023 Tundra pickup truck lineup, will probably arrive at Toyota dealerships in late Summer 2022. As more information about the 2023 Toyota Tundra becomes available, we’ll provide updates. This includes:
