When will the 2023 Toyota Tundra come out?

The 2023 Toyota Toyota full-size pickup truck will likely come out in late Summer/early Fall 2022. Once released, the 2023 Tundra will be available to buy at Toyota dealerships throughout the United States, as well as in select international markets.

How much does the 2023 Toyota Tundra cost?

The starting price of the new 2023 Toyota Tundra is $36,965 MSRP for the Double Cab models and $39,015 MSRP for the CrewMax models. Also, the 2023 Tundra costs $1,015 more than the 2022 Tundra, which has a starting base price of $35,950 MSRP.

2023 Tundra specs: Engine options, fuel economy, and towing

Buyers of the 2023 Toyota Tundra have a choice of two engine options. The standard i-FORCE 3.5L twin-turbo V-6 engine generates 389 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. For even greater performance, pickup truck buyers can get the i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain. Combining a twin-turbo V-6 engine with a motor-generator, it doles out 437 hp and 583 lb-ft of torque. 

Both of the engines for the Tundra are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Also, the pickup truck can be equipped with a rear-wheel drive system or a traction-enhancing four-wheel-drive system. 

For fuel economy, the Tundra gets an estimated gas mileage of up to 18 city/24 highway mpg with the i-FORCE 3.5L twin-turbo V-6 engine and 20 city/24 highway mpg with the i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain. Also, the Tundra has a maximum towing capacity of 12,000 pounds.

The only significant difference between the 2023 Tundra and the 2022 Tundra is the availability of the SX Package. The Tundra offers the SX Package exclusively on SR5 Double Cab trims with a 6.5-foot bed and SR5 CrewMax trims with a 5.5-foot bed. 

With its various styling enhancements, the SX Package gives the Tundra a bolder look. This includes Dark Gray Metallic 18-inch wheels, black door handles and rear inboard bumper, and removed door badges for a minimalist appearance. Also, the SX Package has a blacked-out 4×4 badge on the tailgate of applicable 4×4 models. Additionally, there are black trim accents throughout the interior.

Buyers of the Tundra SX Package can choose from four exterior paint color options. This includes Midnight Black Metallic, Celestial Silver Metallic, Magnetic Gray Metallic, and White.

As detailed earlier, the new 2023 Toyota Tundra full-size pickup truck will likely be available in late Summer/early Fall 2022. This includes the new SX Package. Also, with a starting base price of $36,965 MSRP, the 2023 Tundra costs $1,015 more than the 2022 version.
