The 2023 Toyota Sequoia is flexing its first redesign since 2008, while the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer is emerging as a brand new model. Let’s see which three-row SUV is the better option, starting with prices.

You can get started with a new Jeep Wagoneer for about $61,995. The 2023 Toyota Sequoia starts at around $50,000. So you can save nearly $12,000 with the Sequoia, but the Wagoneer may come with more standard features.

Also, these prices are the MSRPs. They are listed before the destination fees, and dealership markups have been added.

Does the 2023 Sequoia or 2022 Wagoneer have more power?

Each 2023 Toyota Sequoia model comes equipped with the 3.4-liter twin-turbo i-FORCE MAX hybrid engine with 437 hp and 583 lb-ft of torque. Toyota hasn’t released its fuel economy figures yet.

The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer comes with a standard 5.7-liter V8 engine with 392 hp and 404 lb-ft of torque. It gets an EPA-estimated 15 mpg in the city and up to 20 mpg on the highway. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 7.6 seconds.

When properly equipped, the Wagoneer can tow up to 10,000 lbs, which is the best-in-class maximum tow rating. The new Toyota Sequoia can tow up to 9,000 lbs, which is 600 lbs more than the previous generation.

For off-roading, the Wagoneer can be equipped with 4×4, an electronically disconnecting front axle, a 360-degree surround-view system, an electronic limited-slip differential, enhanced engine cooling, an adaptive air suspension, two-speed on-demand transfer case, 20-inch wheels, and skid plates.

The 2023 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro comes with 4×4, TRD-tuned Fox internal bypass shocks, skid plates, a selectable rear locker, 18-inch black alloy wheels with a wider stance, a TRD roof rack, and a TRD Pro exhaust.

Does the 2023 Sequoia or 2022 Wagoneer have better features?

The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer features a 10.1-inch infotainment display with Uconnect 5 software, a 10.3-inch digital cluster display, integrated navigation, Amazon FireTV, and Alexa. You can opt for the 19-speaker McIntosh stereo system.

With the 2023 Toyota Sequoia base model, you get an 8.0-inch infotainment display, but all other trims feature a 14.0-inch unit. A 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster is standard with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Safety features for both SUVs include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, rear-cross traffic alert, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. The Sequoia also features automatic high beams.

While the Jeep Wagoneer can tow more, the Sequoia has a lower entry price. It’s unclear which SUV has a better ride quality and which option is better for off-roading. We will have to update you to determine the winner after both of these beasts have been put through the paces.
