Yes, Toyota uses the same hybrid powertrain from the new Tundra lineup for the Sequoia. This powertrain begins with a 3.4-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine and an electric motor. Unlike the Tundra, you don’t have the option of hybrid or non-hybrid in the Sequoia. The only option for the drivetrain is whether to have RWD or 4WD.

A Chevy Tahoe equipped with the 3.0-liter Duramax turbocharged diesel 6-cylinder engine is the only version of any of these full-size SUVs that offer better fuel mileage. This Chevy SUV offers 24 mpg combined in RWD and 22 mpg combined in 4WD versions.

The starting price of the new generation of the Sequoia is $59,795. This is right in line with other full-size SUVs in the market. Of course, if you move up through the trims, the price increases, but so does the list of features you’ll have in your SUV.
