When is the 2023 Toyota RAV4 coming out?

The new 2023 Toyota RAV4 is expected to be available in Fall 2022. It will be available at Toyota dealerships throughout the United States and most international markets. The Toyota RAV4 for the North American market is built at the Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada plant in Woodstock, Ontario.

How much does the 2023 Toyota RAV4 cost?

The starting price of the 2023 Toyota RAV4 crossover SUV ranges from $27,575 MSRP for the LE trim up to $45,460 MSRP for the RAV4 Prime XSE trim. Also, the 2023 RAV4 costs $600 more than the 2022 version, which has a starting base price of $26,975 MSRP.

The 2023 Toyota RAV4 offers three powertrain options: a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine (203 horsepower), a hybrid (219 horsepower), and a plug-in hybrid with the RAV4 Prime (308 horsepower). Both the RAV4 Hybrid and RAV4 Prime pair a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors. 

The RAV4 Prime is the top-performing model of the RAV4 lineup. Along with the highest powertrain output, it delivers sports car-like acceleration with a 0-60 mph time of 5.5 seconds. In comparison, the gas-powered RAV4 has a 0-60 mph time of 7.8 seconds, while the RAV4 Hybrid completes the sprint in 7.5 seconds. Also, the RAV4 Prime can drive with electric-only power for an estimated range of 42 miles. 

Buyers of the RAV4 have a choice of either a front-wheel drive system or a traction-enhancing all-wheel drive system. For efficiency, the gas-powered RAV4 has an estimated fuel economy of up to 30 combined mpg, while the RAV4 Hybrid has a gas mileage of up to 40 combined mpg. The RAV4 Prime plug-in hybrid has a fuel efficiency of 94 combined MPGe when in electric-only mode and 38 combined mpg in hybrid mode. Also, the RAV4 has a towing capacity of up to 3,500 pounds.

The gas-powered Toyota RAV4 already offers off-road-focused models with the Adventure and TRD Off-Road trims. For the 2023 model year, RAV4 Hybrid gets a new off-road-focused model with the Woodland Edition trim. 

Notable features in the RAV4 Edition trim include:

Also, all RAV4 Hybrid Woodland Edition trims come standard with an all-wheel drive system. Additionally, the off-road SUV offers buyers a choice of three exterior paint color options: Cavalry Blue, Midnight Black Metallic, and Ice Cap.

What else is new for the 2023 RAV4?

In addition to the new Woodland Edition trim, the 2023 Toyota RAV4 has some feature upgrades across the trim lineup. All 2023 RAV4 models have a new Toyota Audio Multimedia system, which includes over-the-air (OTA) updates, cloud-based navigation, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. 

Also, the lower trim RAV4 models have a newly standard 8-inch multimedia touchscreen, while a new 10.5-inch multimedia touchscreen is standard for the higher trims. Additionally, the higher trims have a new 12.3-inch multi-information display.

The compact SUV competitors of the Toyota RAV4 include the Honda CR-V, Nissan Rogue, Mazda CX-5, Mazda CX-50, Chevy Equinox, Subaru Forester, Volkswagen Tiguan, Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Ford Escape.

For warranty coverage, the RAV4 has the backing of a 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. Also, the RAV4 offers the ToyotaCare free maintenance plan, which is good for two years or 25,000 miles.

With its expected Fall 2022 release date, the new 2023 Toyota RAV4 crossover SUV can now be built and configured on the Toyota site. As mentioned earlier, with a starting base price of $27,575 MSRP, the 2023 RAV4 costs $600 more than the 2022 model.
