2023 Toyota Corolla Hatchback upgrade article highlight:

  • The new 2023 Toyota Corolla Hatchback packs a Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite, updated infotainment with a Toyota Audio Multimedia system, and revised exterior styling.
  • Unfortunately, unlike the upcoming Corolla sedan, the new Toyota Corolla Hatchback goes without all-wheel drive (AWD) or hybrid options.
  • The upcoming Corolla Hatchback, with its two new colors, starts at around $24,060.

The Toyota Corolla Hatchback provides potential owners with a practical liftback alternative to the Corolla sedan. The Corolla Hatchback is back for 2023, and it has some upgrades. Check out the new 2023 Toyota Corolla Hatchback and its updates; is it better than before?

What’s different about the new hatchback?

The Toyota Corolla Hatchback returns for 2023 with a litany of updates. First, the Toyota hatch gets an updated infotainment system with an 8-inch screen and the Toyota Audio Multimedia system. TrueCar says the previous generation already had an 8-inch touchscreen capability with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, the Bose audio system steps aside for the XSE trim’s new optional 8-speaker JBL Premium Audio system.

On the outside, the new hatchback has updated front and rear styling with new daytime running light (DRL) taillights and headlights. Moreover, the new hatch model has the new Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 with a suite of new features like Proactive Driving Assist and Obstacle Anticipation Assist. However, its predecessor had a tight cabin, and the new car didn’t change dimensionally.

What color options does the 2023 Toyota Corolla Hatchback offer?

In addition to the 2022 Toyota Corolla Hatchback’s color range, the new 2023 adds two new paint options. First, the 2023 model gets an Inferno paint option, a bright orange color popular on past Tacoma trucks. Also, the 2023 Corolla hatchback sports the Blue Crush Metallic but loses the Galactic Aqua Mica hue.

Will there be a 2023 Toyota Corolla Hatchback hybrid with AWD?

Unfortunately for fans of the Toyota Corolla Hybrid, the 2023 model goes without a hybrid option. While the entry-level SE’s 32 mpg city and 41 mpg highway are commendable, they’re not quite up to the standards of a comparable 2022 Honda Civic EX. Also, the Corolla Hatchback doesn’t offer inclement weather-friendly all-wheel drive (AWD) like a comparable Mazda3 and its optional AWD.

The lack of a hybrid or AWD option in the Corolla Hatchback’s trim offerings is surprising, given the 2023 Corolla sedan offers both. Moreover, TrueCar says Toyota hatchback fans can spring for the track-focused GR Corolla hot hatch, which does include AWD.

The new 2023 Toyota Corolla Hatchback AWD never happened, leaving the new hatch with FWD.

How much is a 2023 Toyota Corolla Hatchback?

The new 2023 Corolla Hatchback starts at $24,060 for the SE trim. The entry-level SE offers heated power mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. However, the optional continuously-variable transmission (CVT) upgrade adds 18-inch wheels, dynamic radar cruise control, and blind-spot warning to name a few features.

The range-topping XSE trim starts at $27,525 and adds heated leather seats, among other things. Scroll down to the following article to read more about hatchbacks!
