On the performance front, the 2023 Toyota Camry has a higher base engine horsepower output, but the 2023 Honda Civic has a higher maximum horsepower output. Engine options for the Camry include a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine (205 horsepower), a 3.5-liter V-6 engine (301 horsepower), and a hybrid (208 horsepower). 

In comparison, engine options for the standard 2023 Honda Civic model include a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine (158 horsepower) and a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine (180 horsepower). Also, the sporty Civic Si features another variant of the turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which produces 200 horsepower.

Additionally, for even greater performance, there’s the redesigned Civic Type R “hot hatch.” The Civic Type R features a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which produces 315 horsepower.

With its smaller size, tighter turning circle, and lower weight, the Civic is more maneuverable than the Camry — which is helpful for things like parking and driving in traffic. However, unlike the Civic, the Camry offers a traction-enhancing all-wheel drive system.

Which car costs more: the 2023 Camry or the 2023 Civic? The starting price of the 2023 Camry ranges from $25,945 MSRP for the LE trim up to $36,370 MSRP for the XSE V6 trim. 

For the 2023 Civic, the official price information is not yet available, but it’s expected to cost slightly more than the 2023 model. The starting price of the 2022 Civic ranges from $22,550 MSRP for the Civic Sedan LX trim up to $30,050 MSRP for the Civic Hatchback Sport Touring trim.
