For the release date, the new 2023 Subaru Forester will be available at dealerships nationwide starting in December 2022, according to Subaru. Forester customers have a choice of six trims: Base, Premium, Sport, Wilderness, Limited, and Touring. 

How much does the 2023 Subaru Forester cost?

The starting price of the 2023 Subaru Forester crossover SUV ranges from $26,395 MSRP for the Base trim up to $36,495 MSRP for the Touring trim. Also, the 2023 Forester costs slightly more than the 2022 version, which has a starting base price of $25,895 MSRP.

All 2023 Subaru Forester models feature a 2.5-liter flat-four engine, which produces 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission. Also, for all-weather traction and driving over rough terrain, the Forester comes standard with an all-wheel drive system. 

On the efficiency front, the Forester gets an estimated gas mileage of up to 26 city/33 highway mpg. Also, the standard model can tow up to 1,500 pounds, while the Wilderness trim has a towing capacity of 3,000 pounds. Furthermore, the Wilderness trim is the most off-road capable model in the Forester lineup, with its 9.2-inch ground clearance, specially-tuned suspension, and all-terrain tires. 

Additionally, the Forester offers a wide array of safety-enhancing driving assistance features. This includes automatic emergency steering, lane-keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot detection.

The new 2023 Forester can seat up to five people, with a total passenger volume of 111.6 cu-ft. Also, for legroom, it provides 43.3 inches for the front seats and 39.4 inches for the rear. 

Additionally, for storage space, the Forester has a rear cargo capacity of 28.9 cu-ft and a maximum cargo capacity of 74.2 cu-ft.
