Holy moly, the Subaru Ascent just got more expensive. The price for the 2023 model year didn’t only increase by a little bit. Instead, that price shocked our wallets. But maybe the extra fees are worth it. Let’s see what’s new for the 2023 Subaru Ascent

How much does the 2023 Subaru Ascent cost?

The 2023 Subaru Ascent price starts at $33,895. It has a $1,100 price increase which may not seem bad for the new look and extra standard features. However, this is the cheapest increase across the board.

Most prices increased by about $2,400, but the Subaru Ascent Oynx trim increased by $3,400. Now it beings at around $41,295. If you need even more luxury, the Oynx Edition Limited takes the price up to $46,295.

Also, there’s the Ascent Touring trim for $48,195 with new Java Brown Nappa leather seats that are heated and ventilated. The panoramic moonroof, ambient lighting, and woodgrain trim add to the luxurious feel.

What’s new for the 2023 Ascent?

The 2023 Subaru Ascent spices things up with a confident facelift. It has new LED headlights that flank a larger grille. Also, the front bumper is larger with new intakes to improve airflow under the vehicle.

There are a few new wheel designs, and the taillights have a bolder C-shape and updated graphics.

The 6.5- and 8.0-inch infotainment systems have been replaced by a larger 11.6-inch unit across the entire lineup. The system includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Plus, physical controls for the climate and multimedia controls were added.

The updated Subaru EyeSight driver assistance system has a wide-angle mono camera to enhance its field of view. It should be able to recognize bicyclists and pedestrians faster with system enhancements.

Now the Limited trim comes with the reverse automatic braking system, dual-function X-Mode for off-roading, a power liftgate, heated seats in the second row, chrome accents, body-color side mirrors, and dark 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels.

For $3,500, you can add the Technology Package. It comes with built-in navigation, a 360-degree camera system, a premium audio system, and the Cabin Connect feature.

Did the 2023 Ascent get more power?

No, the 2023 Subaru Ascent doesn’t have more power. It has the same 2.4-liter turbocharged boxer-four engine with 260 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque. This engine helps the Ascent accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 6.9 seconds.

The Ascent has standard all-wheel drive across the entire lineup. Plus, it can tow up to 5,000 lbs. This matches the strength of rivals, such as the Kia Telluride.

The Ascent could be a little better on gas. It only gets an EPA-estimated 21 mpg in the city and up to 27 mpg on the highway. But this is on par with rivals.

It seems like the extra cash covers the cost of the refreshed looks and extra tech. The Ascent comes with plenty of value to make it worth buying. It’s comfortable, safe, and capable, with enough room for the whole family.
