The 2022 Nissan Frontier has taken the mid-size truck market by storm. As the first major redesign of this pickup in years, it appears that Nissan got it right. The 2023 Frontier has not yet been released, but it is certainly on its way. Because Nissan just updated its truck, it is unlikely that there will be any serious changes made. There might be some changes to various packages, but it will probably be pretty similar to the 2022 model. So, is it worth waiting for?

Will the 2023 Nissan Frontier be a good truck?

If the 2022 Frontier is any indication, the 2023 model should continue its success. For a time, the Frontier was actually the second best-selling mid-size truck, with the Toyota Tacoma being the first. And that shows that buyers like what Nissan did to this pickup. 

Every Frontier pickup now comes with a 3.8-liter V6 engine. This powerplant makes 310 horsepower and 281 pound-foot of torque. Plus, when properly equipped, the Nissan Frontier can tow up to 6,720 lbs. For 2023, those numbers will likely remain the same. That is, unless Nissan decides to give its V6 more power. 

Do Nissan Frontiers last long?

In terms of longevity, the Nissan Frontier has done consistently well, even with its four-cylinder engine. With proper maintenance and care, it isn’t surprising to see a Frontier on the road that’s been around longer than ten years. That said, the 2022 Nissan Frontier is an all-new truck. So there are not a lot of high-mileage examples out there. 

As mid-size pickups become more complex pieces of machinery, it makes sense to be concerned about longevity. But if you get a new Frontier or wait for the 2023 model, you should have confidence that your truck is built to last. 

Is the 2023 Frontier coming soon?

Nissan has yet to announce the arrival of the 2023 Frontier. You can no longer order the 2022 model, so the brand is likely working to ensure production of its mid-size truck goes smoothly. Supply chain issues are still hitting the automotive industry hard. And because of that, it can be hard to find the specific vehicle that you might be looking for. 

You can probably expect the 2023 Nissan Frontier to arrive later this year. According to Kelley Blue Book, it will probably be priced about the same as the outgoing model. More standard features could also be coming to the Frontier SV. 

Is Nissan’s mid-size truck good?

The Frontier has been favored by owners and critics alike. With the Frontier now coming with a standard V6 engine and optional features like four-wheel drive, its popularity has only grown. This mid-size truck has a pretty solid value proposition, and you can get a base model for under $30k. 

Hopefully, the 2023 Frontier will arrive soon. That way, more folks can buy this mid-size pickup. But, only Nissan knows what it plans to do. Even if that means that you have to wait.
