No, the 2023 Nissan Frontier isn’t more reliable than the 2023 Ford Ranger. J.D.Power gave the Nissan Frontier a predicted reliability score of 83 out of 100, and the Ford Ranger got 86 points. So, the Ranger has a small margin of victory.

However, both trucks have above-average ratings. Scores between 70 to 80 are average, ranking between 81 and 90 is good, and anything between the 91 and 100 range is best. Also, the scores are based on problems that owners reported in previous model years.

The average Frontier is expected to last between 200,000 to 250,000 miles, but with regular care and proper maintenance, it can make it to 300,000 miles.

The average Ford Ranger model is predicted to make it between 250,000 to 300,000 miles. It could provide a few extra years of service on the road with regular maintenance.

Both trucks are considered to be high milage options once they cross 100,000 miles because this is when the risk of severe repairs increases.

Is the Frontier bigger than the Ranger?

The 2023 Nissan Frontier and the 2023 Ford Ranger are very close in size. They have less than an inch in difference regarding height, width, length, bed sizes, and wheelbase length. Although, interior space is utilized differently.

You’ll find more passenger space in the front and rear of the Frontier. It has a significant advantage with more legroom in the back, allowing taller passengers to sit comfortably. Taller drivers will enjoy the extra head space too.

But the Frontier has more personal item storage than the Ranger. It offers more trays, cubbies, and a massive center console bin. The door pockets are average, and there are plenty of cup holders.

The Ranger has a smaller center console and tight door pockets. Also, the under-seat storage can be frustrating to access. Plus, the steel bed is a little plain. The Frontier has a 120-volt outlet in the bed with an optional spray-in liner.

When properly equipped, the Frontier can tow up to 6,720 lbs and carry a payload of up to 1,697 lbs. The Ranger can tow up to 7,500 lbs and carry a payload of up to 1,905 lbs.

Is the Frontier more comfortable than the Ranger?

The 2023 Nissan Frontier offers a more comfortable driving experience than the 2023 Ford Ranger. It has a smoother ride over the pavement, while the Ranger is a little stiff and bumpy. It also has smoother transmission shifts and confident brakes.

With the Ranger, you may notice that it’s slow to downshift and laggy. Also, the brakes are a bit grabby and may cause nose dives. But the Ranger has well-padded seats and more adjustment controls.

The Frontier seats are a little stiff, but the climate control system is strong and effective, despite not having rear vents for passengers. Also, the Frontier may have more wind and road noise in the cabin than the Ranger.

So, the Ford Ranger is more reliable than the Frontier with more passenger space. But the Frontier isn’t far behind and offers a more comfortable daily driving experience and better cargo storage.
