The 2023 Nissan Ariya is the Japanese automaker’s upcoming electric SUV model. The Nissan Ariaya boasts impressive range and power. There’s just one problem. You won’t be able to get a base model anytime soon.
The 2023 Nissan Ariya’s top trims will be available first
The Nissan Ariya will come in several different trim levels. Ariya trims range from $40,000 all the way to $60,000. It is by no means the most affordable electric SUV model.
Though the Ariya will eventually be available in multiple trim levels, higher Ariya trim levels will arrive first. This means that the average consumer will not be able to afford the Ariya for some time. According to Newsweek, the Ariya comes in four different trims. The most expensive trim will start at $58,950.
The least expensive Nissan Ariya starts at $45,950. Even with federal electric vehicle tax credits, the Ariya appears to be one of the more expensive electric SUVs. Some Ariya trims are capable of up to 300 miles of range. The Ariya Platinum dual-motor all-wheel drive model makes an astonishing 389 horsepower.
How does the Nissan Ariya compare to other electric SUVs?
Nissan isn’t necessarily late to the electric SUV game, but it isn’t the first automaker to release one either. That being said, there will be several electric SUVs to choose from by the time the Ariya is available for purchase.
The Ford Mustang Mach-E has been the most impactful electric SUV of 2021 in terms of sales and popularity. The Ariya’s design is reminiscent of a conventional modern SUV, but its sleek body panels and front fascia are also futuristic. The Ariya’s slim and sophisticated headlight design adds to its new-age aesthetic.
As far as performance, the Ariya’s high-level trims will compete with high-level Mach-E trims. Nissan has developed an EV that is meant to contend with the range and quickness of its top rivals.
Should you buy a 2023 Nissan Ariya?
The 2023 Nissan Ariya is an exciting model for the Japanese automaker, but is it worth the money? Unfortunately, until Ariya models are tested and reviewed, we won’t know whether the top trim models that are released are actually worth their high prices or not. What we do know is that the Ariya boasts some impressive range and power specs.
The entry-level Nissan Ariya does just enough to compete with the upcoming Toyota bZ4X and Subaru Solterra. It will likely be in the same price range as other electric SUV base models as well. The Ariya’s success will come down to its cabin, ride comfort, standard tech and features, and overall value compared to other new EVs. Based on the Ariya Platinum’s specs, this little electric SUV is playing to win.
