2023 Mercedes-AMG EQE: Estimated Range, Price, and Specs

Mercedes-Benz continues to make its push for electrification with the debut of the 2023 Mercedes-AMG EQE electric luxury sports sedan. The AMG EQE is the ultra-performance version of the previously revealed EQE. Find out what we know so far about the estimated range, price, and specs of the 2023 Mercedes-AMG EQE. 

When will the 2023 Mercedes-AMG EQE be available?

Mercedes-Benz revealed the 2023 Mercedes-AMG EQE in February of 2022. The AMG EQE should hit lots this fall. An AMG EQE53 model will be offered in the U.S. In Europe, Mercedes-Benz will also offer a lower-powered EQE43 model, but it won’t be available stateside. 

How much does the 2023 Mercedes-AMG EQE cost?

Mercedes-Benz did not yet release the official price information for the 2023 Mercedes-AMG EQE. However, the 2022 AMG E 53 starting MSRP is $75,000. So we can expect a higher starting price for an electric version.

2023 Mercedes-AMG EQE specs: Horsepower, torque, and 0-60 mph acceleration time

With its AMG-specific electric motors, the 2023 Mercedes-AMG EQE delivers eye-opening specs. It churns out a mighty 617 hp and 701 lb-ft of torque. When equipped with the Dynamic Plus package, the output is even higher, with 677 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque. 

For acceleration, the AMG EQE can go from 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds for the base model and 3.2 seconds with the Dynamic Plus package. The EV sports sedan can reach an electronically-limited top speed of either 137 or 149 mph. 

With electric motors at the front and rear, the AMG EQE is an all-wheel drive car. All AMG EQE models have an air suspension, which is stiffer compared to the standard EQE model. 

Driving range, battery, and charging for the 2023 Mercedes-AMG EQE

The 2023 Mercedes-AMG EQE has the same 90.6-kWh battery pack as the standard EQE model. Mercedes-Benz claims the AMG EQE will have a strong driving range — 444-518 km, or 275-321 miles on a full charge. The electric sports sedan will also have fast-charging capabilities. Mercedes-Benz did not yet release the estimated MPGe fuel economy of the AMG EQE.

While the 2023 Mercedes-AMG EQE shares much of the same exterior design as the standard EQE model, it has unique wheel and tire combinations. Also, the AMG EQE has a staggered tire set-up, with larger tires for the rear wheels. In addition to providing a more athletic look, the staggered tires should enhance the cornering performance of the AMG EQE. Additionally, the AMG EQE features a larger rear spoiler.

Notable features inside the cabin of the AMG EQE include an AMG-specific digital instrument cluster and AMG-specific seats. Also, Mercedes-Benz will offer a very large infotainment screen for the electric sports sedan, which it calls the Hyperscreen. This will offer drivers a similar interior tech experience as the new EQS sedan.

What models are the competitors of the 2023 Mercedes-AMG EQE?

The 2023 Mercedes-AMG EQE joins the rapidly growing EV performance car segment. As noted by Car and Driver, likely competitors of the AMG EQE include the Tesla Model S, Tesla Model 3 Performance, Porsche Taycan, Audi e-tron GT, and BMW i4 M50.
