The 2023 Lamborghini Urus Performante uses a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine to make 657 horsepower. That’s 14 more horses than the base Urus model. It gets 16 miles per gallon combined.

The Urus Performante can go from 0-62 miles per hour in just 3.3 seconds. It makes 190 horsepower. The luxury sports SUV features three on-road driving modes: STRADA, SPORT, and CORSA. STRADA mode is the easiest to control. SPORT mode is designed for an exhilarating driving experience. The CORSA mode is the performance mode.

The Lamborghini Urus Performante introduced the trim-exclusive RALLY mode, a mode designed for low-grip surfaces. It also includes EGO mode, the most driver-centric mode.

Lamborghini claims that the Performante features improved aerodynamics and lightweight components. It also includes a new design. Lamborghini calls the Urus Performante the “sporty evolution” of the Urus SUV. The Urus Performante couldn’t have arrived at a better time because Ferrari is finally unleashing its Urus rival onto the world as a 2023 model year. The Purosangue could be the Urus’ greatest competition yet.

The Purosangue uses a 6.5-liter V12 engine to make a massive 715 horsepower and 528 lb-ft of torque. It doesn’t have an EPA-estimated mpg rating out yet. Forbes claims that the Purosangue can go from 0-60 miles per hour in about 3.3 seconds.

The 2023 Ferrari Purosangue is clearly inspired by its greatest rival, the Lamborghini Urus. Ferruccio Lamborghini founded the brand in 1948 after experiencing some frustration with Ferrari luxury sports automobiles. The blood feud between the two brands is historic.

Over the last several decades, both Ferrari and Lamborghini have risen to the top of the automotive industry, producing the Crem Dela Crem of automobiles. The black prancing horse and the bull have been battling for over half a century. Each automaker has produced iconic models that deeply impacted automotive culture.

The Urus is a historic model for Lamborghini. It broke sales records for the Italian automaker and continues to grow in popularity. The Purosangue aims to dethrone the Urus as the standard international status symbol. The Urus is iconic, and that means that the Purosangue’s potential is great.

2023 could be the year of the Purosangue

The Lamborghini Urus Performante is impressive, but it isn’t a completely new nameplate like the Purosangue. The Purosangue will compete with some of the quickest luxury sports SUVs on the market, like the Aston Martin DBX. If any luxury sports SUV has the ability to dethrone the Lamborghini Urus, it’s the Ferrari Purosangue.
