Two superb choices for the midsize SUV segment are the Kia Telluride and the Honda Pilot. This is especially the case after redesigns for both SUVs for the 2023 model year. While the Pilot has multiple strengths, the Telluride offers a key benefit. The 2023 Kia Telluride has one huge advantage over the 2023 Honda Pilot: better warranty coverage.

There are various things to consider when choosing a midsize SUV. And one of the most important is warranty coverage. The longer the warranty coverage, the greater the peace of mind over the long haul. If your vehicle has mechanical difficulties, you won’t have to worry as much about taking a severe hit to your bank account. Repairs and replacement of parts for a vehicle can be quite expensive, and the generous warranty coverage for the Telluride helps alleviate this financial burden.

The 2023 Kia Telluride, like other new Kia models, has one of the best warranty coverage available. It offers a 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty and a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.

In comparison, the warranties for the 2023 Honda Pilot are much shorter. The Pilot only has a 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. Once these time or mileage periods end, you’ll have to foot the bill for the repairs. However, for the Telluride, you’ll still be covered.

2023 Telluride is also cheaper than the 2023 Pilot

Along with the savings that the 2023 Kia Telluride provides with its generous warranty coverage, it’s also cheaper than the 2023 Honda Pilot. With high inflation, midsize SUVs, along with other cars, are more expensive than ever. However, the Telluride continues to be a good value choice for the segment. It’s one of the most affordable new midsize SUVs.

The starting price of the Telluride is $35,890 MSRP, compared to $39,150 MSRP for the 2023 Honda Pilot. That’s a $3,260 difference in price.

Other advantages of the Kia Telluride over the Honda Pilot

In addition to its generous warranty coverage and lower starting price, the 2023 Telluride midsize SUV has some other advantages over the 2023 Honda Pilot. This includes technologies. For example, the Telluride offers curved dual 12.3” display screens for the infotainment system and instrument cluster. However, the Pilot doesn’t offer curved screens. Also, the largest ones available are 10.2 inches for the instrument cluster and 9.0 inches for the infotainment system.

Also, the Telluride has driving assistance technologies that are not available for the Pilot. This includes highway driving assist, safe exit assist, and speed limit assist. And on the performance front, the engine for the Telluride is slightly more powerful than the one for the Pilot (291 vs. 285 horsepower). Additionally, the Telluride has a higher maximum towing capacity (5,500 vs. 5,000 pounds).

With its better warranty coverage, the 2023 Kia Telluride has a huge advantage over the 2023 Honda Pilot. This results in considerable savings on repairs. When deciding which midsize SUV to get, warranty coverage is a crucial factor to keep in mind.
