Jeep produces some of the only SUV models with off-road capability. The Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the only midsize SUVs that can tackle trails.

The Toyota Sequoia is a great rival for the Jeep Grand Cherokee because it also has off-roading prowess. Consumer Reports calls the Sequoia “impressive off-road.” It is also one of the most long-lasting vehicles ever produced. The 2023 Toyota Sequoia even comes in a special TRD Pro off-road trim that includes 2.5-inch FOX internal bypass coil-overs, rear remote-reservoir shocks, and a TRD Pro front stabilizer bar.

The Sequoia TRD Pro uses an i-FORCE MAX twin-turbo V6 hybrid engine to make a massive 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque. That’s much more power than the Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. The Sequoia TRD Pro is more expensive than any Grand Cherokee configuration, but it seems to be more capable as well. If you want to stick with the midsize SUV segment, the Toyota 4Runner TRD Off-Road Premium also comes with plenty of off-road upgrades. It starts at just $44,880.
