The Infiniti QX55 was recently released for the 2022 model year. With a year of refinement and development, how does this sporty crossover SUV hold up for its second full year on the market? What specific details, under the hood and in the cabin of the QX55 might make it the ideal luxury SUV for you? Here is everything you need to know about the latest model of the Infiniti QX55.

What is the Infiniti QX55?

Released for the 2022 model year, the Infiniti QX55 was designed as a more refined QX50 with some different priorities compared to its predecessor. The Infiniti QX50 is a luxury SUV focused on competing head to head with the Lexus NX350, Acura RDX, and the Audi Q5 45, just to name a few.

The Infiniti QX55 adds some aggressive styling to the QX50, although drivetrains are shared between the two models, both of which have the 2.0L VC-Turbo 4-cylinder engine making 268 horsepower. While the QX50 offers both front and all-wheel drive options, the QX55 only offers an all-wheel-drive model.

The major difference between the QX50 and QX55 is the interior space and styling. While the QX55 does offer more of a performance SUV experience, the redesigned body means less space compared to the QX50. The QX55 offers 54.1 cubic inches of interior space, while the QX50 offers 65.1 cubic inches of space.

Per Infiniti, the Infiniti QX55 starts at $49,150 for the Luxe model; this is the cheapest trim level you can get. Safety and performance features are identical across the board. Stepping up the next trim level from the Luxe trim gets you the Essential trim at $54,250, and the top-of-the-line QX55, titled Sensory, comes in at $57,800.

2023 Infiniti QX55 specs, changes, and other updates

For 2023, not much is changing for this crossover SUV compared to the previous model year. As previously mentioned, power is delivered through only one engine option, the 2.0L VC-Turbo 4-cylinder engine making 268 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. The biggest change to the QX55 is the list of features that are now standard. This includes 20-inch wheels, power-folding, heated side mirrors, perforated leather upholstery, and four-way lumbar adjustment for the driver.

While not much is changing for the QX55 for the 2023 model year, it continues to fight for the top spot among high-performing crossover luxury SUVs. If you don’t need the extra space in the Infiniti QX50, the QX55 may be the ideal SUV with its long list of standard features that emphasize its sporty image.
