The release date of the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe, Santa Fe Hybrid, and Santa Fe Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) will likely be in late Summer/early Fall 2022. It will be available to buy at Hyundai dealerships throughout the United States and in select international markets. 

The Hyundai Santa Fe for the U.S. market is built at Hyundai’s plant in Montgomery, Alabama.

How much does the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Hyundai didn’t yet release the price information for the 2023 Santa Fe crossover SUV. However, the 2023 Santa Fe will likely cost slightly more than the 2022 Santa Fe. The starting price of the 2022 Santa Fe ranges from $27,200 MSRP for the SE trim up to $46,010 MSRP for the PHEV Limited trim.

The 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe offers four engine options: a 2.5-liter four-cylinder (191 horsepower), a turbocharged 2.5-liter (277 horsepower), a hybrid (226 horsepower), and a plug-in hybrid (260). Also, the Santa Fe Plug-In Hybrid can drive with electric-only power, with an estimated electric driving range of 31 miles.

For efficiency, the gas-powered Santa Fe gets an estimated fuel economy of up to 25 combined mpg, while the Santa Fe Hybrid has a gas mileage of up to 32 combined mpg. Also, the Santa Fe Plug-In Hybrid gets an estimated fuel efficiency of 76 MPGe when driving in electric-only mode and 33 combined mpg in hybrid mode.

Depending on the model, buyers of the Santa Fe have a choice of a front-wheel drive system or a traction-enhancing all-wheel drive system. Also, the Santa Fe offers an off-road-focused model with the XRT trim.

Compared to many of its compact crossover competitors, the Santa Fe is strong for towing. It has a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds.

The 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe is a carryover model. However, it has some feature upgrades across the trim lineup. This includes newly available over-the-air (OTA) map updates and H-Tex seating surfaces. 

Also, the Santa Fe Hybrid offers new exterior paint color options: Hampton Gray, Calypso Red, Stormy Sea, and Serenity White Pearl. The Serenity White Pearl hue is also a new color option for the Santa Fe PHEV. Additionally, the Santa Fe SEL Convenience trim is not available for the 2023 model year.

The crossover SUV competitors of the Hyundai Santa Fe include the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, Nissan Rogue, Mazda CX-5, Mazda CX-50, Chevy Equinox, Subaru Forester, Volkswagen Tiguan, Kia Sportage, and Ford Escape.
